  1. Body looks good, I like the stance in the rear pics.

Big milestone on any project when it's time for paint. Means you have the finish line in sight! Nice work

Thanks man ya body needs very little work, just a few little spots and then a light skim. We were chatting about it at the shop today and my buddy mentioned a light skim of filler and I laughed and said no filler, let’s break out the lead!! Ha ha he didn’t like that idea

For sure! Trying to keep up with you! Just cut back to working three days a week so I could keep you in sight. Thank god I don't have magazines chasing me for stories haha ... I would never get this damn thing finished!
Spent a solid 8 today on piecing the back end puzzle together. DD2019 here we come

Out of curiosity ... will you separate body from chassis before painting?

We do have to pull the body off again to put the frame welt on and seal the body underneath but as for final paint I think the plan is to paint on the frame just with everything masked off.

Theres about two to three inchs out of the top...often refered to as Chopping or Axed...scroll back up a few posts. The Choppers have an axe in one of their logos...as an example. Fitness is going to razz me. Just pulling his leg...;)

So what's on the burner while the body is in work Fitness? Have you fired up the monster yet?

Now that's a specialty axe if your not going to use it pass it on...;)

This is FAKE news, fake fake news!!! You applied some filler in a strategic location, took a picture and you’re trying to make us think you’re painting it. Fake news.:cool::cool:

Yes going to spend some time on the motor and do a little cleaning. Need to pull the intake off and get it sandblasted. I am going to run the motor stock to begin with and save my pennies to do the rebuild that I want. Will also do a good clean of the shop and organize all the remaining parts for the coupe so it’s ready for when she gets back from paint and I start reassembly, wiring etc. I’ll make good use of the axe

Some small advancements in the bodywork department. Got the doors lined up and gaps looking decent. Hopefully will get some more hours on it today. still taking donations for guys that are interested in helping another hot rod brother out... :D

It'll be equally cool when your body man will fab your fuel tank cap into the body. Have you thought about where the location will be yet?

Yes that's next on the list. I am going to have it centered so it sits overtop of the fill spout on the tank. We need to notch the hinges on the trunk so we can centre it a touch better and get the gaps even. Then we will cut the decklid for the opening. I will take it back to my shop and box it in and then let him do the finish bodywork. He pulled the doors off yesterday and was mudding those.

One side done. onto the firewall and other side next week. I made my own hinge brackets for the trunk as we needed to play with the alignment of the trunk to get the gaps clean but the hinge brackets that came in the aftermarket kit don't have slotted holes to allow for this. They also seemed pretty flimsy so these are an improvement all around. Getting ready to slice and dice the trunk for the gas cap cutout...

    Hi
I remember doing my rumble trunk lid . What a pain that was to fit proper. Then I sanded for a week, then my buddy came over and said, A little more sanding and you should be just about there. Good thing my gun wasn't near. LOL. THEN take it for a ride and every thing changes. Every step you do to these cars and the more you want to go for a Ride. Wait until it is Painted. Looken good
    Regards
    Dave
