Hey, everyone new to the HAMB. Hope someone can help. I have a 63 Fairlane with a 221 V8 and 3 on the tree. The car has 20K miles on it and in great shape. I is a joy to drive, but needs an overdrive. I want to keep it column shift. I have access to a T-85N out of a 61 Ford pickup with a 292. It is compete with all electrical components. Can I adapt the truck tranny to the car bellhousing? The most I can find is I will need a 10 in. clutch with the larger 1 3/8 center. Looks as though the pilot bearing is the same. I don't know if the tranny pattern or if the input shaft length is the same? Does anyone know? Is there anything else I need to be aware of? I looks as though you could get a t-85N in a Fairlane, but don't know if it is different for a truck.
