  5. Another from my mis-spent youth. 08312020_0003.jpg

  6. Another project I try to get time on is a little video I want to try to animate called and named for the song
"Rock 'N Roll Ruby" by Brian Setzer, here are Ruby character designs, Take 1, shared before and takes 2 and 3, these, combined to create "The Rock 'N Roll Ruby Twins"
The final design will be very stylized, like take 1. These are just warm ups...

"Rock 'N Roll Ruby" ( still pretty stuck on this one.)

Don you've been hiding...pretty darn nice rendering...I'm thinking this is the most recent of the Artworks you've shared...

  10. ...Actually, all of those were done in 12th grade Art Class and that was 54 years ago!

@catdad49 what's in the archives there, I know you are quite the Artist as well...

I think @Tom davison had a pretty good handle on drawing too...

It's really interesting seeing the Artwork though our period of youth...I was 70s...the closer to the Hamb time frame the style and subject matter varied...

  14. @Stogy I have a bunch of stuff from HS and later but most isn't HAMB friendly. Here is one I did my 9th or 10th grade year, in pencil and watercolor followed by one I did my Jr. or Sr. year. All '57's oddly enough...

Hey Don, you had a pretty good grasp on perspective at that age...Neato:D.
Hey Carp. Glad to see @Stogy "shamed" you into posting;). Not only a great drawing, but some commentary to go with it:D.

  17. Thanks, Jack. I think 2 years of Mechanical Drawing helped.

Not much of my early stuff survived:(

Did these in 9th grade. After years of Catholic school, I realized that in my first year of Public school (9th grade), I could draw all I wanted, without a nun smacking me with a ruler:eek:.

@Jigger, 57 was a good choice I remember visiting a friend of a friend in the mid 70s and he had a 57 2 dr htp looking for the green light tucked in a packed not so well lit garage with shiny medium blue metal flake radiused rear wheels in a semi circle cutting right through the lower trim...the aft OEM well was was still there...with some stickers in the rear side glass...it looked like a 60s survivor...I was drooling like a Ratfink...

I grew up through a similar era with lots of OT but sorta looking back even then...thanks for digging into the archives...;)

No shaming, just asking...with my :) face...I'm always happy to see our membership sharing their art no matter when it was put to paper...it's been a fun time as always here...thanks all...bravo!!

  26. This is the trophy panel that I made for the Detroit Autorama! This was the Hobo’s Hot Rod Garage pick in the basement. Been a while since I’ve posted, but I’ve been really busy bead rolling. Check out my Facebook page Hobo’s Hot Rod Garage. Have a Great weekend!

...Movie Rants are trending...they're either loved or hated...

I'll take them for what they are, films around the Culture, cool cars, burning rubber, chicks, racing, breaking the law, being crass, drinking, smoking, fighting, are all part of it...and that doesn't usually make for academy awards...it's funny most are as Hokey as the vintage Counterparts......wait!!., are they really corny or just many times much like the go fast Culture really is to varying degrees?...I still enjoy seeing the Hotrods/Customs...I'm forever influenced...

So this is part of the fun of that influence...I grew into manhood reading about this and saw the movie as a teen...right up there with that Yellow Coupe poster on my wall...Captain America and Billy Poster on the other...

The Hamb and the Hamb Culture around me rounds it out now...till the Checkered Flag for the big race called life is over...

You all are building and buying the Diversity in Hotrod/Custom that provides the Inspiration and Eye Candy that rivals any of the California Kids and Graffiti Coupes in my experience I call the Big Picture...

    Thanks for your contributions...;)

This was a pen and ink on illustration board transferred to film and airbrushed with watercolor...
