Thanks guys.... We were up forty cars from last year and that is a good increase. The
club is not intrested in making it a mega show, we want to make sure it stays more of
a social gathering. We will be able to handle around 750 cars and it will not get any
bigger then that. We have the entire fenced in area of the museum so we have plenty
of room to grow. This year we ended up with almost 200 entries and we are very
pleased of the quality of cars that were at the show.

I have guys asking to be part of next years garage krawl. We could do a garage krawl
in Wichita for a week and still not see everything. It is such a kool City and it can only
see it getting better. We are comfortable on what we are doing at the Kansas
Avaiation Museum so next year look out. It is amazing how much talent is around the
    Wichita area.

    Highlights of the show:

I got the chance to Kruize Douglas with Doug Reeds "Toad". I had the chance to hit
some of the garages and ran into Doug just so happened we left Devlins the same time
and watching the Toad in action while I'm driving the Merc was pure butter. LIfe just
doesn't get any better then that...

On the way back from Flying Eye Creations, I got (kinda) lost, so as I'm drivng around I
get a phone call from Duke and he needs directions to get to the host hotel. Kool, I
know where that is. As I'm talking on the phone I turn down the wrong way on a one
way street. I noticed people are waving at me but everyone waves at Kustoms in
Wichita. So I'm just waving back trying to act as kool as I can and just kept going until I
saw the Tahoe about 50 yards ahead of me in my lane.. Dooh! Then I realize that they
wern't wavbiing at me becasue I was kool, I was going the wrong way. Luckly there was
a church parking lot near by. I can just hear the people telling the story of the stupid
Kustom uy driving the wrong way and on a mobile phone. I'm sure the "Toad" would not
    be proud.

The other highlight was hanging out Saturday night with the Colorado guys in the hotel
parking lot. We talked for a long time telling stories about the good old days. We
started telling old war stories about the Hangin Dice show in Fort Smith when it was
the place to be. We miss those days.

Sunday we all kruized down to check out Jeffs Meyers shop. It was fun to listen to Jeff
and Dave Pareso talk about Kustoms. When we got there Mike Shay's show box was there
and the chopped '41 and Shoe's fast back. Jeff's a great guy and I appreicate ya taking
the time to give us the tour.

Like to thank Jack (yblock292) Jeff (Mongo 51) and Tony (Triumptony) for helping us out.
Those guys worked there butts off. Also like to thank B-Scott, Jimmy, Travis, even Two
Tall Okie for their help. Stray kats that Help Renee and I put on the show. They are very
important to the success of the Starliner..

Be sure to checkout the pics that Travis (RoyboyProductions) and that Neal (Neals49)
took. Below is Neal's post. Thank guys, you have a kool Kamera eye....

Again thanks guys for hanging out with us this weekend and look forward to the rest of the year....

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

    Hi Mick,
It was great to meet you finally... Got home last night from Lindsborg, KS, after a day of railroad depot photography on the way.. Did get to meet up with fellow HAMBer Lippy in his town of Rush Center, when I stopped to get that depot. Had a dragster beginnings in his yard, and I stopped for directions and he helped!

Anyway, am posting my photos to PBase now and with 430+, it will take a while. Link is http://www.pbase.com/nmsandrail/2010_starliner_in_wichita

BTW: This event was a special reunion for me, as I refueled many B-47s in my day in SAC at Lincoln AFB, Nebraska, in the mid 60s..

Wanted to say THANK YOU to you and your group for a GREAT event.. I was unable to attend any of the Friday activities, as I was driving up from New Mexico. Had to put on Boy Scout Roundtable in Clovis Thursday night, so a late start on the event. Hope to do it all next year! See you again soon... duane (NM Sandrail)

Kool to hear that you made it home ok. I was honored that you drove so far just to hang
out with us. Now I can put a face to another HAMBer, don't worry that is a good thing.
LOL! You have a good eye and you took some killer pics.

If your able to cme back the Friday Garage Krawl is somthing worth attending. I agree with
ya that working with the Boy scouts is more important.

Hope to see ya soon sometime..

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

    Hi Mick and fellow HAMBers,
I got my Starliner photos from last Saturday all posted to PBase finally this morning... About 410 photos. Link is: http://www.pbase.com/nmsandrail/2010_starliner_in_wichita
Thanks again, Mick and crew for a great event...:) Love the T-shirt you had for sale there!

As I mentioned before, being with a B-47 again, was a good moment.. Here is some old photos of my refueling days at SAC for our 2 bomb wings then stationed at Lincoln AFB, in the mid 1960s.. I started out in Liquid Fuels Systems Maint on the Atlas F ICBMs there with the 551st Strategic Missile Sq, but thanks to the Minuteman systems coming on line with solid fuels, we were shut down after only 4 active years.. Anyway, several B-47 photos enclosed....:)

Love the old fuel pics.... I had to save some of them for my library. Looking at he pics
you hadn't changed a bit. Wish that I had time to hear some of your stories. We will
have to make it up sometime.

Kool to hear that you had a good time. The Kats are impressed with the Museum and
feel like it is a good place to host the show. Feedback is always good to hear, thanks
    for posting the pics.

    Happy Trails, Mick
