I've just re-read this Whole thread and want more, I was dissapointed when I got to the bottom and it all ended so abruptly. Now what am I to do for the next two hour until my shift finishes?

Please give us an update - we're all hoping to see what progress on this jewel has taken place over the last year or two.

It's way too nice not to see how it has ended up.

    Cheers.

Well, the roadster is still on the back burner. I have pretty much everything I need parts-wise to finish it, but time is the problem. I'll get back to it at some point, but for now I have some bitchin' customer projects that get finished first.

Well, now K13 has linked this from another thread, an update would be nice, if I haven't missed it elsewhere?

    Brian,
That's amazing work! Thanks for taking the time to take the pictures and post them. I know documenting it and sharing the work with us takes a huge amount of additional time.... so, Thank you very much!

My question: How are you making most of your brackets and gussets? They are really clean and the edges are smooth and straight. My brackets always look like a beaver chewed them out of wood. :( I initially thought you were using a Water Jet type machine or a CNC type Plasma Table when I see the Metal Menorah looking template with the semi-circles and holes. But you then mention putting the hole saw to work, and I see the pic where it looks like you cut the bracket out with a plasma cutter by hand. Therefore, I'm guessing you are laying out the templates from your paper drawings onto the metal, marking them with a hole punch roller wheel thing, and a pounce bag, drilling the holes with either a mill or a drill press to keep the edges clean, then cutting it out with the plasma cutter, then perhaps a bench top grinder, then a belt sander?

Also, on the pieces of stock that you are putting bends in, are you bending it after you cut it out and clean up the edges?

    Thanks.
    -D
