Going to put this in the corner, just no interest in working on it, keep thinking about the wiring a lot. Fun factor isn't there. Bob

The Inspector and his sister and just arrived brother. The thought of wiring any of the projects just killed my interest in working on then, what is the point. I can watch other builds, go to events and swap meets, collect and sell stuff without watching a car burst into flame. I work at a shop two days a week on other peoples cars, no need to bother with mine. There are more unfinished projects than finished, I'm not alone. :)Bob

Had a good time at Hershey this year even if the Grandkids couldn't make it. Found a nice 30-31 Fordor rear pan, the black one, looks a bit nicer than the 28-29 pan. The Sunday after Hershey a good friend gave ma a 1928 frame complete with the forged running board brackets. This will go to the Inspector for his a chassis build, but I plan to put it under the Fordor body to help align the cowl when I get back to it. DSCF0315.JPG DSCF0242.JPG

Added a 1932 Ford gas tank to the parts pile, it has some issues, but for $20.00 I'm very happy. :)

Just read this whole thread. I picked up a 60C a few days ago and plan to drop it on a '32 chassis as well. Have you started your Steadfast kit yet? I'm planning on the same thing, but mounting it a little higher to achieve a 3/8" mini-channel.

No, The Steadfast kit is about a year away, I'd have to mockup the '32 rails first so I'd know were everything needs to be cut and fit. The rails actually are for the '30 Roadster, when the time comes for the Steelback chassis I might just go for a new set. The '29 cowl has to be attached before anything gets fitted to the chassis. Right now I'm just moving crap around to make winter work space. Looking forward to following your project, please post lots of photos, you'll be finished long before I am. Merry Christmas! [IMG]

Before the '29 cowl gets fitted the wire chases/spacers need to be installed, think that was the reason I stopped. So once they get fitted, cowl gets fitted, cowl can come off, shell can go out and get sandblasted, primed, painted, cowl gets welded on, then the shell can go on the '32 rails for the Steadfast fitting, that should bring me to Christmas 2019.:( Bob

  17. Bob. You're sleep walking. Go back to bed sir. 3:45 am in Ridgefield.

Either that or you're twisted down into the basement, from the night's pub crawl. Pints for hot rods.

:) Creatures of the night, fast friends.

Mine is still a long ways off. I need to finish the wife's roadster, finish my Shoebox and build a shop in the backyard. Pretty sure you'll be done before I start! Merry Christmas my friend.

Not so sure, I'm in the middle of another basement cleanup, goal is to be able to place my hand on the foundation walls in any place down there. Pathways wider than our Chihuahua would be a big plus too. Found a use for the Taylor homestead flooring that is taking up room in the garage, going to panel a wall with it. Taylor is the T in P.T.Barnum, I'd like to think the showman walked on this flooring at one time before he left Bethel, Ct. for bigger things.

It's starting to snow, first time this season! Two weeks away from turning 67 and I'm happy to say I can still pick up a Model A Ford frame and carry it into the basement. This will be for the Inspectors someday Pickup, but for now will be used under the Steelback to align the cowl and rear section. But first, another cleanup & rearranging of the basement. Bob DSCF5823.JPG

DSCF5862.JPG This is how things looked at the end of the day. Tomorrow the dolly gets some 2x6's & plywood attached to it and slid under the body shell. Running board brackets will just clear the floor should be a trip free setup. looking forward to having the cowl finally fitted. Bob

Today was my Dad's birthday, he would have been 102, so I did some carpentry in his memory. Fixed three draws in the kitchen ( nobody noticed yet), and made up the dolly fixture to move the A chassis around. DSCF5867.JPG That's Dad's drill, always think of him when I'm using it. DSCF5870.JPG Two 2x4 blocks keep it in place and locked to the chassis. Next step is placing it under the body, by myself. DSCF5871.JPG Grandson didn't come over, but I'm really good at playing with wooden blocks. DSCF5872.JPG

DSCF5873.JPG There is a lot of the rear of the body that overhangs the rear corssmember, so stuff had to get moved out from the front. The 26-27 T rear is for the T Speedster someday TROG car. 5Speed is for the '39 truck project. DSCF5874.JPG Plywood slide was needed when the body was slid over. I can't explain how this whone thing was done, just did it, took about an hour, adding blocks, taking a few photos. DSCF5875.JPG
