You know there's plenty of good wiring kits out there.

Maybe, but overcoming the fear of burning down the car ,garage & house, isn't going to happen. Still enjoy being a spectator. Bob

Moving more stuff around, found some unwanted things to sell. Plan is to have all the parts for this project in one place, not scattered around.

I need to do another basement cleanout to get to this again. Scooter's Modified Murray got me motivated. Bob DSCF0914.JPG

Getting ready to kick 2020 out the door. Didn't make much noticeable progress on any projects, picked up a few pieces that was it. Sure added to the clutter in the basement and garage, four full car loads of books will do that. Plus side is the sale of them will pay for the JW Rod Shop '32 Rails and a Kick Up kit from Steadfast. I need a chassis to make any progress in setting up both bodies, the Steelback & the Roadster. Missed seeing everyone this year at Shows & Swap Meets. Best wishes to everyone in 2021! Bob

You didn't see the fireworks? Yes turned 70, they say the Old Geezer Card is in the mail. Put my NASCAR watching skills to the test today on the way to JFK on 684 in the rain. Guy tried to do a Denny Hamlin on me, never yanked a car that hard right at speed before, never lifted either.

  10. Bob, you are an old fart, but you still haven't caught up with me. I'm 80 now, my mind says that I am 35, but my body says otherwise.

Way back in the corner behind the T is a non automotive item that may cover the cost of the '32 rails. Need to get it out and make it present well. Like everything, stuff in the way has to be moved. I'll report back tomorrow. This is a supercharged STUTZ Coupe, has some features that I really like. Stutz-Model-M-4-1600x1068.jpg

DSCF1550.JPG DSCF1551.JPG Well, It is out and turned 90% sitting in the center of the basement. Think I can part with the Canedy Otto drill press, had it for 53 years and didn't find a use for it. DSCF1567.JPG
Back clip is in here somewhere.

That wasn't so bad, all that stuff got moved around, and I gained a lot of open floor space, only thing that got thrown out were 5 scoops of sawdust on the floor. Lots of careful measuring and cutting coming up next.

Thanks! It will take up less room if I put it together. There is a lot of stuff I can do without spending any money, just getting the rear aliened with the doors is a big step. The bad section of floor side rails will get replaced with a Steadfast kickup kit, but that can't be fitted until I get a '32 frame to base everything on.

All the wood is out and I can start planning how I have to cut the wheel well and roof areas. Laving the wood around the window to give the whole piece some stiffness. It is still clamped to the dollies, think it is going to weigh about the same as a 1940 Ford front fender, just a bit more awkward. DSCF1723.JPG DSCF1724.JPG

Just checked the date, that rear section has been rolling around on two dollies for over 10 years until today. Cut the last brackets off and it is ready to meet the main shell. That rolled bead over the wheel well is just a bit different on the two, so I'll keep the full arch on the back section, and cut off the section on the main shell. Think I better buy a stack of cutoff disks, and new face shield. The rusty subrails aren't a problem, they wil get cut off once I have the '32 chassis is set up and I know were things are going.

Well the dog leg sections are not connected to the subrails just rusted away, all I have to cut are the arch sections. The '31 center section is all steel construction, you can see the small nail holes it the '29 back section that was all wood framework. There is going to be a lot of stuff hanging in mid air until I have the chassis and rear subrail kit in place. Hank got another pair of glasses tonight.

The Inspector called and asked if I had any stuff in the basement that he could have to take apart. Showed up with his new Christmas wagon and filled it. Told me "One man's junk is another mans treasure". We took apart some some Model T parts with a hammer and steel punch, he is real good with a hammer while I held the punch. I asked him how he planned to get the stuff in his basement. "Through the Bilco door with some firewood when Mom isn't looking." More work tomorrow.

March 1, 2021: Goal is to cut and fit things so the back section fits the main shell by the end of the month. The clean up and organizing will never end.

Bought a new 3M face mask today for tomorrows cut off wheel work. They go for about the same money as replacement eye glasses that Hank destroys DSCF0881.JPG .
