Technical 28 x 9 Hurst Pie Crust Size

A guy contacted me about a pair of used Hurst slicks. They are advertised as 28 X 9 cheaters. The cheaters were recapped on 235/70 15 tires. Does anyone have these and know the exact section width of these. He wasn't sure.

Can't answer your question, but have the seller check the date code, all recaps are on used casings and Hurst hasn't been doing them for years, as we know radials have a limited shelf life.

 

Check with Towel City. They make a slick capped on the same core. Should be the same.

 

I have two sets of the Hurst recaps on 235/70R15 casings. Both sets are mounted on Cragar 15 x7. The sidewall does not bulge out too much and the section width on both of mine are in the 9 1/8" range. The overall diameter of the tire is about 27 5/8" and the contact patch of the slick is right around 8 3/8". Hope this helps.

I guess they were listed as 28 x 9 and not 28 x 8s
