Sunday funday fabricating a new centre crossmember for the T incorporating the pedal box/master cylinder. Front half done another few evenings will see it done. It sure makes a difference having the right equipment to make the job easier and better!
Wow...nice build on your project! It looks nicely planned out....and I totally agree with you about ''having the right equipment'' making a difference....less stress & headaches I found out the hard-way....it's gonna be an awesome car I predict-----particularly like that windshield!
That's looking real good and I know what you mean about having access to equipment, it make life much easier. JW
Got shitloads done today, another day of fab should see it finished and ready for paint once and for all.
My goal was to have the chassis back rolling before we head to the states, super pleased with how it's looking and the stance is perfect. A few more bits to get while we're away but not too far now!
haven't updated this in a while, there's been alot of late nights & every weekend ive had free, some near misses and a fuckload of swearing (see!) but were getting there. i bought the body and chassis from Glen's old T a while ago and with my original body needing alot of work as im putting in opening doors and fitting up the Hallock Screen etc, and i want that set up to be spot on so rather than rush that body and never be chuffed with it. i decided to chuck the black body on, made up a subframe and alot of other titting about as this body is actually about 5 inches narrower than the other! but got there in the end, last weekend after a full on weekend trying to button up the wiring and other bits and bobs saw us trying to fire the motor on sunday night, weren't having non of it. couldn't see the wood for the trees and had lost the will to live. monday night came and a fresh start saw that the cam was actually around 90 degrees out, so the valves were doing all the wrong things on the wrong stroke. that corrected it fired up straight away and sounded strong so i was proper chuffed that my homemade inlet was working! today came and abit more faffing, twinned with being full on with Dale's Roadster Pickup the past few weeks to finish them both up for Pendine, saw them both fire up and drive! massive smiles all round. so after 2 and a bit years of pissing about and a complete rebuild she's nearly ready to hit the road and fuck it felt good! that's what Hot Rodding is all about. no drama just people pissing around with old cars and sometimes getting it right!
well that was just abit special! a mad thrash friday morning after gearbox went south on the way back from work thursday night. managed to get one and get it back in and we finally hit the road at about 3pm, drove through sun/rain & the pitch dark with the biggest grins on our faces ever! chuffed with just getting there but the racing was the icing on the cake a feeble 70mph on saturday which everyone was telling me was good, but i knew better! so put my foot down abit more and managed a 79.5 not bad for a knackered motor that cost less than the 2 carbs did! now to have a few weekends off before sorting the other body out! and my favourite pinched off Neal!
Had the pinion bearing go bang on me last week so I've had the axle out for a rebuild and while I was at it I replaced the T spring with a stock model A as it had settled to low in the Rear.
