Looks like a nice project, the BSA reminds me of one I had many years ago when I was young. Good luck on the hot rod build!
bit of an 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards update, over to my friend Bob's yesterday morning/afternoon/evening rebuilding the axle and drinking so it ended up in us leaving at 11pm! but a corking day. axle is in today, i know i should'a listened but i did'nt. gonna have to put the spring on top of the axle it looks retarded being that short! so it will end up sitting nye on how my old A sat which i loved so it won't be all bad! just be another trip to bobs for a second model A axle housing to cut the spring hanger off. Unless anyone's got one they wanna lop off and post to me?
got my motor in today, its a 90s ford pinto, good for economy, speed & reliabilty. i keep telling myself it looks like a overhead converted 4 banger then i feel okay about it!
Got the radiator in today, need to mount the grill shell, set the rad rods up then i can locate my body and sort the rearend out
bit of progress, got the gearbox mocked up with the centre crossmember, cut, flipped and moved foreward. set my hood length of 27". not a fan of long hood's on anything especially the one you get when you put a T on an A frame on the stock position. so i've got my proportions right then will be making the rear end & crossmember fit in from there! my other half is'nt best pleased with the low seating position as the car is mainly for her, i'm 6'0 and she's alot shorter and can barely see over the dash. but you've got to sit low in a roadster its the law!
sorted the wheelbase out, running the spring infront with a 39 axle left the wheelbase too long so abit of trimming got it back in line and i think its looks great if i do say so myself!
Looks great so far, fairly similar to mine. I saw a guy cut the top off of a Y-block valve cover and weld it into one of those Pinto valve covers so it had the little indentations on one side and the Ford lettering, did wonders for the look of the motor. Just something to think about.
She will thank you on the first long day in the drivers seat. There is nothing better than tucking yourself down into the cockpit to get out of the wind, cold , rain or whatever you hit. chuck
Not touched it really for a while busy saving money for our June california trip, but managed to pick up a 36 ford dash today. abit more work and it'll be in fully.
Yeah it's a early banjo, but it's not staying just for an idea Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Here's a clearer shot, I'm really digging it. Was worried about the depth at first with the T not being the deepest of body's but it's actually okay Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I think it looks great. Goes with the dash. What are the other choices? Singlefingerspeedshop.com. Detroit
