That's a 4WD T-5, correct? Are you planning to mate it to a torque tube?

Wow, if that tranny is indication of how clean you like things then this roadster should turn out pretty nice.

I made some shock mounts / headlight mounts today. followed the idea in the Tardell book modified F1 mounts with headlight cups welded on top. Also cut the spring hangers off the wishbones

Little bit more done I hated the height of the F1 shock mounts (see above) so I cut them up and welded up shorter versions

    Keep it up.

  19. Looks like your roadster body is relatively complete....were you lucky enough to score the decklid with it?

Would you mind if I pestered you for some pics from time to time? I'm rebuilding the back of my roadster at the mement and there's a LOT of missing pieces.

little bit more done. my A spring and mounts came. Putting them on was not so easy I had to get the torque tube off and the hubs so i could take it to a local doode to weld and I cut off the original 46 rear mounts. I did not trust my pigeon shit welds on this part. Anyways here are some pictures. Its a posie smaller than normal A spring that sits 3.5 inches lower but my AV8 book tells me to pack it without the last 3 springs not sure i dont want to cut them as spacers so might have to get something to use as a spacer. What do you guys think?

My understanding is that the long springs are for ride and the short ones are for ride height. If the last three are left out it should ride the same, it will just be a little lower. It is easier to put the short ones back in.

Will we see this on the road before winter?

That depends on a couple of things

    1. Just lost my job so I have time to spend on build but no money gotta find a job!

    2. You!

    Hows the torquetube interface going?
Actualy CD I have a couple of questions, I had to cut the drive shaft connector off after grinding and beating out the rivets and i think I am going to have a driveshaft made with 2" tubing therfore I can use any end I like for the torque tube knuckle and was thinking maybe I can use an off the shelf joint instead of you making a custom one. What do you think?

I am actualy aiming for Hotrodarama next year

    BloodyJack is a jerk!!!
    Why??
Because he is doing a way better job on his '27 roadster than I am on mine!
    Crap!!
    (By the way, nice setup...!)

I had the same dilemma. I made a spacer.

    1. I can always put the leaves back in if I want to.

    2. Why cut up good Model A parts to make spacers out of?

Build is looking good so far.

Dude, your motor is going to be perfect. I hate to admit it, but mine is a Ford 302 and the trans is a C-4. I did a little customizing on some Speedway cheapo valve covers, welding on little tubes that guide the plug wires . It's kind of a wannabe early-Olds -like look. And I got a little carried away with the alternator fan "color." 1978 called and wants it's "custom styling" back...
