I built this 261 about four years ago for my pop's hardtop.
We've got it out right now whille we're doing the front suspension.
I couldn't help myself, I had to freshen it up before I put it back in.
Dad is pretty proud of that motor so I thought I'd mock it up on the stand and snap a few pics for him.

Looks great. Is that a plate to use a turbo 350 behind it? Also curios why the alt. and p/s pump have switched sides.

Aaaahhh... Thanks! Nothin' like wakin'up with a raging hard-on! :D
    That mill looks right!

    A few questions:
    - Are those chrome acorn caps on the head bolts?
Where can I find some' o those?

    - Who split that exhaust manifold?

    - What brand is that intake?

    Inquiring minds want to know!

I like how the Nicson and the Offenhauser bolt on the stock manifold's heat exchange plate. It's clean.

I may try to split my exhaust manifold myself.

    Yup, a nicson intake.
It's got a mild solid lifter cam, 848 head with a little bowl work.
My dad and bro split the exhaust, it sure sounds sweet.
Dad got the chrome acorns from a big rig shop.
Willowbilly, that is one of those adapter plates from Buffalo Enterprises, he also did the hei for us.
The car is just getting power steering now, and to me it just seemed too cramped on the driver's side with the exhaust, alternator and all the stuff on the splash pan. So my bro and I built the power steering bracket for the other side. (I hope it works)
I'll snap a few pics of the adapter plate for those who want to see it.

Rocket! Wait, not so fast! Come back here! :)

What did you use for the extra outlet? Cast iron or steel?
What did you use to weld it? Mig? Stick? Brazing?

Are they just caps or actual acorn nuts?
