So since you have gone to the extreme on everything when are you going to cut and buff the paint?
    Extreme in a good way.

    The snow has melted.
    Very nice.
Thanks for input on your favorite process and such. So maybe tomorrow you can go around the corner and fill her up? For the inspection of course

Cutting and buffing has been done with the exception of the doors and some other areas.

I recently bought a 3” polisher to go with my 6” polisher so it will be a ongoing thing.

I’ve got lots of 3000 and 5000 3M sanding pads
along with the foam and wool pads
and three different levels of 3M Trizact polish.

We are all better for being able to watch the progress of this build. Not only did you build a great rod you did a great job of documenting the details. Thank you.

The grass is greener when the Hotrods on the Road...Congrats...I feel the Look and Stance has an early 60s vibe...Not sure what your thoughts are on that, but tires aside it reminds of the look in that Peterson/Hotrod series of recent times in bold black and white...Have fun...

What an OUTSTANDING job you did both on building it and keeping us informed along the way. A car that anybody here would be proud to own. :)

    Inspection is done

No problems and I went to the registry and got my plate too.

So now I’m ready to get out for a drive.
Cold, cloudy and windy here today.

I’ve got to adjust the brakes and they really need to finish sweeping up the sand and gravel from the winter.

Once I get out I’ll update.

I’m pretty happy right now

Pretty handy when your hot rod is small enough to fit in a 14x7 trailer :)

I predict you'll be so giddy after your first drive you'll have a hard time hitting the right keys on your computer keyboard.
Good for you on getting to enjoy the car and thanks for documenting your great detail work.
BTW, how are you adjusting to retirement Larry?

You’re right, it’s more like ecstatic.
It’s going to get better once I’m out driving around this summer.
I get more pumped every time I’m in drivers seat.
Firing it up and slipping it in gear is great.
Picture me grinning from ear to ear.

I’m going out to the garage, picture a wild happy dance :D

    Is that better ? :D

Thanks guys it’s been a journey which will continue.
I’ll see how it all works soon and there’s still the interior panels I’ll stitch and cover to complete the upholstery.
    In between and during which
I’ll put some miles (kilometres :D) on it.

Congratulations on a terrific build. You started this thread March 27, 2010. Curious if it feels like it has taken that long? Mine will take considerably longer, as I started it a number of years before you and have had to put it on hold several times, including know. I hope the sand and gravel get cleaned soon so you can get out and enjoy it.

Thanks, sometimes I think it took forever mostly because I did everything myself and paid for it as I went.

There were some delays for various reasons a couple of health issues too.

The payoff is finally here I’m really going to enjoy this little hot rod.

Wife and I went out to run some errands today and it looks like the streets will all be cleaned up by the end of the month or so.
