No the snow hasn’t melted yet :D
I spent about 20 minutes this morning with my back pack blower cleaning my driveway and sidewalks of the snow that fell overnight.
Spring is coming though I promise. And you can be included :D

Doors are going on. And a temporary windshield wiper for inspection.

And also a couple of pictures of the retractable door check straps finished too.

Passenger door is on and opens and closes as nicely as the driver’s door.
Getting so close to inspection ready I can actually see it :D
I have some nice ribbed closed cell foam weatherstrip to install around the doors and also the mirrors have to be installed.

Went out to the garage and took a look at the doors.
The plan was just to look for today ;):D

Oh no, the fit around the outer flange where they overlap the body was not good.

Too much in places and then too close in other places that would lead to chewed up paint when driving

    What to do ?
A couple of hours of terror :D

Tape the edges of the doors with about 4 layers of masking tape and then proceed to pry and massage the door flanges using a taped up flat vice grip sheet metal tool for bending in and a soft blow hammer for adjustments when the flange had to be moved out a little bit.

Where was the terror? We’re talking about finished painted doors.

Thank God for the toughness and durability of acrylic urethane paint.

It all went well, no paint damage or unwanted dents cracks or wrinkles  Whew! :D
Now once the weatherstrip is on they will be snug and secure.

It tells me that I probably should have fit them better but honestly I think that’s how it goes sometimes after bodywork and paint.

They seemed to fit well beforehand.

Or there's my method. Add tape until the gaps are even and paint it blue. I would have ruined that nice paint if I had tried that. Then I would have got pissed threw a hissy and wrecked more stuff. You are a grownup!

Spent some quality time in the garage today and installed the mirrors.
Oval rear view and 2 Brookville chopped 32 mirrors that I welded bungs into the windshield posts for before I had them chromed.

Then I sat in the driver’s seat for a little while.
Once the snows gone I’m ready for inspection

Pictures of the view out the windshield and the mirrors too :D

Really like how your dash turned out. Been in the 60’s and low 70’s down here between all the rain, hope you thaw soon!

Well, if the doors are on, that means the timing tape is installed! :p
    (See post 2296)

I like that the wiper is just as nice as the rest of the truck, but it would be fun to show up to the inspection with the "required equipment" you are planning to remove and put in a box for safe keeping all rusty and mismatched. It may not be in your best interest to thumb your nose at the persons responsible for allowing your creation road access, but it would be fun! :D
I'd imagine that even the most jaded gov't inspector will see the quality of workmanship on this build and understand you are not the reason why some home builds need a critical set of eyes to look things over.

Well you know what they say about electrical problems being ground problems most of the time?

    Its true.
I had a issue with the stalk on my Limeworks turn signal unit.

When I wired it the instructions said that the unit should be grounded for proper operation.
So I attached the ground wire to the back of the case.

So why can’t I get the little light on the end of the stalk to flash consistently ?

I took it apart and discovered that the plate with the stalk is isolated from the rest of the body and was getting only intermittent grounding.

    Then the Aha moment.:D

The stalk plate has a threaded hole for guess what  :D you got it, the ground wire :D

Moved the ground and put everything back together and it now works perfectly and whenever it’s supposed to

So today I took a look at my gas cap.

I wanted to come up with a way to lock it so I made a couple of little stainless steel plates that go over the roll pin that serves to open the cap.

A little stainless tube spacer to allow it to pivot when bolted snug with a stainless 10/32 machine screw and a nylock nut.

Then a small padlock covered with shrink tube does the locking duties.

I had it outside today for setting up the tire pressure and tightened the lug nuts.

Warmed it up and drove it forward and back down the driveway

I’m going to have to do some adjustment on the brakes but that’s to be expected.

Backed it back into the garage.

    Inspection appointment is set.

As I've said before, I've been subscribed to this thread since the day you started it. I just went back through several pages and downloaded a half dozen pix of your tri carb setup. I've been to some very famous and "high-falutin" art museums; I've seen original paintings by world famous masters (worth many millions of $). I like your tri-carb setup better than any of them. Here's my favorite pic:
