Awesome! I’ve really been thinking about buying one of those for a while

  2. lines are looking great. I borrowed my buddy's Eastwood flare tool when I re-did a set of Dunlop Brake calipers with the transfer tubes, lots of flaring. I liked it so much I had to get my own. The next best brake tool was the pressure bleeder I made with a bug sprayer bottle. one man show to bleed them.
    Keep up the good work.

The brake line from the drivers side frame through bulkhead fitting to the passenger side across the rear of the front crossmember gave me fits :D
It was tough but it turned out well.
It is the first line I made the flares for using the Eastwood Pro Flaring Tool, everyone should have one.

    Blue,

This is the only thing that comes up when I search this thread for "bender". What tubing bender are you using? Your bends come out better than mine.

I’ve got 3 Imperial lever type tubing benders.
    3/16”, 5/16”and 3/8”.
They’re industrial quality and work great , they’re much better than the hardware store versions that bend multiple sizes of tubing.

They usually don’t have a good tight bend radius.

The Imperial benders are US made quality

Whew :D That was fun. The small lines I had made from the master cylinder to the proportioning valve (with the previous terrible flares) have been replaced.
New line bent up and properly flared.
That ni cop line sure looks nice when you give it a little scrub down lightly with Red scotchbrite.

Thanks, all bends are for routing clearance to keep everything clean and neat, not touching or rubbing anything.

It also makes future repairs such as changing a master cylinder easier.

So, no extra or unnecessary bends.

Thanks Fred, there’s more coming guys
I’ve wrapped up the front brake lines and I’ve installed my 3/8” ni-cop fuel line and started the rear brake line.

I’m using some more of the Made for You T clamps but these ones are kinda neat having one side for the 3/8” line and the other side is for the 3/16” brake line.
Looks really nice having the lines running together.
I’ll post pictures when it’s ready to show

Brake lines and fuel lines are progressing nicely.
I had to route them around the hole in the frame for the exhaust.
The Made for you line clamps with 3/8” on one side and 3/16” on the other side are pretty nice.
I took a 3/8 “ Tee and silver brazed some mounting tabs to mount it to the frame.

A section of hose and some fittings will tie it to the fuel pump.

The fuel line connection to the fuel pump inlet.
No hose clamps, I just have to have the ferrules crimped now.

Inverted flare fittings, the top inverted flare size for the fuel pump inlet is 5/16” x3/8” hose the bottom is 3/8”x 3/8.

Along with super good quality hose (Gates Barricade Greenshield), nice and clean.

Blue, I've NEVER seen that done on a home built car. Your attention to safety and detail is above the bar!

Thanks Fred, it must be all the years I spent as an industrial pipe fitter / pressure welder.
Working alongside instrument fitters you pick up a few things.

I think it will be much better than the usual hose and clamps.

I'm impressed with your 90 degree inverted flare fuel fittings. Do you know of a source for a similar fitting I can use on my brake lines?

  22. Nice work as usual, may I suggest marking the fitting to the hose in case they turn on the way to getting them crimped. Unless they are swivels that is.

I’m not sure. Do what I did and search every possible source online for fittings.
It took a while to find what I needed.

    Good idea.
They aren’t swivels and one is turned just slightly off square because of the taper of the frame.

I’ll mark them before I head to the hose shop.

The fuel line is crimped and installed.
And Summit came through with the final line clamps I need to secure the rear brake lines

I’m going to put gear oil in the quick change and bleed the brakes,
Then I’ll install the pickup bed and mount the fuel tank and finish the back end of the fuel system.
Then the body can go on and I can start wiring.

In 7 weeks I’ll be off for the summer, :) so I’ll be able to devote more time, just like last summer which was a day to day marathon of bodywork and painting. :D
