Yeah, BUT... what kinda grip you rockin'? Mob? Jessup? Grizzly? If you're running Mob you might be shredding the treads of your nice, new tires... Sorry, I can't help myself. I doubt anyone else will understand on this forum.

Your chassis looks great by the way. I like the vented brakes a lot. Keep pluggin' away!

:D You know Tim I don’t even know what it is :D I didn’t ask, I went to the skateboard shop and asked them for 4’ of grip tape and what I got looks like black. 80 - 100 grit or so sandpaper.
(My son would probably know what it is)
As for shredding the tires well I’m thinking that I’ll be okay there as all the grip tape helps with is keeping it on the stands when I pull on a wrench :D

Well that all sounds fine haha. For the record, Jessup is a classic and been around forever. I prefer it. Grizzly is somewhat new and a bit of a buzz word in the current market - I can't really tell the difference between it and Jessup. Mob grip is the stuff that a homie at Zumiez will try to push on you. To me it just completely shreds your shoes and does no good whatsoever...way too grippy.... anyway, back to hot rods.... I never would have thought to grip your stands, but that's a great idea.

I’m thinking that it’s probably the old classic stuff that’s been around as it looks the same as what my son used for years.

The reason I thought about using it is because once I built the stands and painted them I realized that since I hadn’t wanted to add any side plates (allowing for possible wider tires)
the tops ended up rather slippery .

The curve cradles the tires it was sideways that was the concern.

So after years of skateboard repair and maintenance the idea just came kind of naturally.
    Use grip tape :D
In the interest of shop safety :D:cool:

On a related note @zibo has some on the floor of the roadster pickup to act as a heal stop. Kinda clever :)

If you’re referring to the wire mesh in the brake vents, it was supplied by MT Car Products with the vented backing plate option on the Lincoln brake kit I bought.
They supplied the stainless mesh and it’s formed to fit the holes nicely.

:D Extreme cold weather and snow along with a busy schedule slow things down but I’m trying to get something going. :)

Just to prove that things haven’t come to a full stop I assembled and installed the start of the brake system.
The pedal and master cylinder assembly.
Next will be a trip to the brake supply shop for nicopp tubing and other stuff

A rather momentous thing happened today.
I decided that since the transmission ends up so close to the brake master cylinder I would probably be better off having it in place before running brake lines.

It will make it a little bit harder to install lines however everything will fit.

So the momentous event was the assembly of the engine and transmission and putting it into the frame.

    Sorry :D
I overlooked it but since a lot of my other parts have a coat of black powder coat I figured it would be okay.
I did brush on a fresh coat of KBS rust paint and believe me that stuff is tough.

Another benefit if you think about it will be the ease of repainting the driveshaft should it need to be removed in the future to replace a U joint. ;)

The black looks good with the blue anyway :D
My rad will be black as will the fan shroud.:D

Today I called Gene at Flat O products and ordered up a high torque gear drive starter made specifically for my Y Block and C4 combo using the Flat O adapter which I have.
It also has a solenoid so that will be helpful.
