so if I may ask, how much did you shorten the frame when you swapped the bells side for side. Just a curiosity thing as I plan on doing the same to my T, and am also running a 40 rear. Cool project

Lakeroadster, thats a great story! my dad told me the same thing about 41-48 ford hoods.

Cshabang, I don't know, the wheelbase is real close to stock model A. Let me measure tonight if I can and I will let you know.

    Thanks for the compliments everyone.

By the way, yes, the trans mount is 41-48 front crossmember. I also used the boxing plates from the front rails. Any guesses what the front crossmember is?

hey man, You got me on the stanchions, I'm just glad to find them at a cheap price and they haven't reach critical mass yet. lol A 26 door has 4 small holes on the inside panel and on a 27 those holes are bigger. Off the top of my head I don't remember there sizes. also a 27 door will have square access holes to get at the hinges. Jared

Hmm. That front crossmember looks a bit like a 51 chevy pickup rear crossmember.

That is a pretty solid T you're building! Everything looks spot on. The stance is really making it work very nicely..

Tonight we spent some time machining the brake pedal arm and some risers for the motor. Not much to look at but here are few pics.

Making risers for the motor. Still need to make a pair for the trans mount.

So are we right about cross members? 41-48 ford and Chevy pick up? That thing just sits so right!

Yep. Trans or center is 46 car front crossmember, and the front one is a rear shock mount/crossmember from a53 chevy truck. The rear kickup is also made from the rear crossmember of the 46 car.

I can't wait. We're trying to figure out how to bring the bikes and all our crap if all we have is the F1 and the roadster, haha.

Blackjack, I didn't take any shots of the spring work. I rounded the ends of the leaves with the torch, then just chamfered the ends with flap wheels. Think I did one pass with 60 grit, then another with 120. Just enough to get the deep gouges out. Things are like butter now.

My buddy did all 4 springs in his F1 above. Thing rides like a Caddy.

Sweet ride! Keep up the good work, love the look of your T!

  28. h.i. i put a magnet on my windshield frame and it stuck, would seem to be steel, strange how it has a peened finish. Had a good look over my rpu today and found marks around the spare wheel mount holes on the sub frame so it used to be a roadster too, suits me better as it is.Keep up the good work, Cheers,JW

Thanks guys! Had a little detour this weekend. Had to make the hub puller and remove some banjo hubs. I'll get some pics up a little later. Tuned out great!
