    bttt...

    may resort to scaling up photographs and using known dimensions against those. anyone done this or have drawings already?

  3. Are you looking for a particular dimension of the whole enchilada?

    I can take some measurments off my body if it will help.

    You might call Wescott's, seems like their catalog had lots of drawing and dimensions in it.

    flt-blk...no i don't want to trouble anyone to go out a measure here and there - i've snuck quite a bit of measuring at shows. :)

    thanks for the heads up on wescotts - that's a great idea. they do tend to have everything nicely drawn to scale. i'll see what i can find. thx again.

    Hay raaf,...

    What kind of plans do you have for this 27 Roadster ?,..... A friend of mine is making Steel bodies that are just a little larger to bolt right to a Deuce frame,... they are proportionately correct but there is more room in them than a Deuce Roadster,...

    The fit and finish on the steel is incredible, He is also building Deuce Frames, and is working with Mark Kerby on new aluminum flatheads

    harms way... those look really nice - too nice in fact. :) i'm starting my first "real" build and trying to work as much as possible out on paper to make sure my head isn't fully up my ass.

    my plans are for a homebuilt model t frame, chevy 235, etc. ...but things get a little sketchy around the body. first off, i don't have one and i intend to start anyway. second, the steel out there is either really rough or high $$$. ...and to add to the fun the i am 6'3" - so i'll need to make some changes from stock - trying to avoid the "clown car" effect.

    so there's this voice in the back of my head that keeps saying that i should build a buck and glass my own body. i've done some glassing, done a lot of foam shaping - so this may actually work. ...but my fear is i will lose the *right* look of the original and that the result will look like shit. quite possible. but i think i'm going to head in this direction anyway. worst case, i can always buy a glass roadster body.

    ...and i ALWAYS have my eyes open for a steel roadster. until then i'm getting as much measurement info (wheel centers, firewall location, etc) so that i can work in the right direction and do as little as possible twice.

    Those shadowrods bodies look great and I am a "full figured" man and they fit much better my stock 27 T roadster I am building!! Sat in one at Autorama, the only way to go.

    I have also been looking for these measurements. Landracing.com forum http://www.landracing.com/forum/index.php/topic,5424.msg76887.html#msg76887 has some detailed measurements. From there, the following:

    REFERENCE DATA FOR 1927 FORD MODEL T ROADSTER BODIEs

    DNM = DID NOT MEASURE
    CL = CENTER LINE

    NA = NOT APPLICABLE TO THIS CLASS
    INSIG = INSIGNIFICANT VARIANCE IN MEASUREMENT

    I have also been able to measure one for door sizes, and Dash-Curve Length and Hood Lip Length (smaller).

    I get ~ 19.750" Length x ~ 19.250" Height for Left Door
    ~82.000" for dash length (string along dash lip lower body to opposite)
    ~70.500" for Hood Lip (smaller) (string in corner where hood would seat)

    I have been able to draw up some CAD Drawings from this, but I find that some dimensions are missing. I could use the curved length just behind the hood (outside of the lip, at the crease just after the hood seam, right on the corner. On the firewall, various widths @ height, and the peak of the arch from the widest point. Also, some of the above measurements are ambiguous as to exactly where the measure point is. I will post some pictures shortly. Thanks!
