Features 250 INLINE 6 "lets see em"

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by roosters hot rods, Feb 10, 2008.

  1. Thanks Twisted6, I am currently having my 250 head rebuild at Lanier's Speed Shop · Colorado Springs, CO. I am having a difficult time finding valve covers and valley covers (matching). I have been searching high and low (used at the right price) vs new Clifford tins.
    Thanks

Try hit the boat shops around your area to look for the marine covers, also swap meets & race tracks(roundy round you'd find more there then at the drag strips)

Anyone use the 250ci, with a 3 speed saginaw trans-bell housing from a mid 70's c10, on a 53-54 chevy 210? I'm having an issue with the clutch pedal assembly, and fork that engages the clutch.. just confused on how they hook up with one another. the two pictures are one of the bell housing, where the rod would hook up, and the other is of the bottom of the clutch pedal, thats attached to the master cylinder. Can anyone shed some light, please?

I've discussed the problems with using bellhousings that change the fork angle in '49-54 cars many times before.

If you still have the stock clutch linkage and forged fork, What I did was use the old fork and the "hockey stick" looking part of the linkage that bolts to it, and then I made a new piece of linkage that connects that part of the linkage to the stock clutch pedal arm. As long as the location of the fork as it relates to the car is nearly the same as it was originally, my solution will work for you too. PM me for pricing.

Thanks Snarl, the whole drive train, including the clutch is from a 76 c10. But the actual clutch pedal mechanism is original to the 210, so marrying the two, has become a mystery.

Years ago i hogged out the head to use an intake valve in all 12 spots. That with a milled head and slight carb modification made my 250 really sing.

  10. Really like that marine scoop:cool:

Here's what my 292 sounded like before I had the muffler and tailpipes done. It's just the stovebolt headers into some down pipes that teminated underneath the drivers seat:
    292, no muffler vid

Bitchin. I'm getting ready to rebuild my 292. What trans are you running and what kind of performance, mileage, etc are you getting? Just curious. Thanks!
