241 Dodge Hemi- Info Please

    Timing Cover Crank Seal-----241 Dodge Hemi.
    Would appreciate info. on correct installation, totally different from original but was in 241 gasket set. and is correct diameter. Pic. is back side of cover.
    Pics. included.

    Put it in so the seal lip is slanted toward the inside of the engine. I have never used the felt that goes in the hub. Support everything well when you drive it in.

    So the second pic. would be right? Seems odd, but that's why I'm asking.

    The big felt washer that goes in the cup behind the hub/dampener was/is there to keep road dust/abrasives away from the lip seal. Use it.
