The car is an absolute gem. I'm liking that Kaiser copper. Or maybe a medium light blue metallic. It's a stunner just in primer though.

I totally agree with you about using a flashy color. This ride screams for "bright" whatever.

I like the light blue idea also. Maybe it's my phone or color blindness but the primer almost looks light blue to me. I think a really dark color will contrast well but lose some of the detail on the car

Must be something we have in common, either bad eyes or bad monitor, but I've seen it as light blue since it's been in prime. And agreed, shows off the detail, which it has in spades. I don't think this car needs a super flashy color to draw people in. The spectacular craftsmanship does that.

In my opinion, the car needs a dark, more conservative colour. There are a ton of well executed details on this car. A flashy bright colour would fight for attention with the details. A darker colour would also offset the gold wheels and engine. A dark red/burgundy would be my choice. Just my 2c.

  9. I think the blue, maybe a stock ford blue like Washington blue would look good with the gold and chrome

Yeah Jimmy, you got to be fast around here. There are some pretty quick photoshop experts just hanging around waiting to pounce!

Paint can not ruin a great car but it can ruin it's looks. Picking the right color is sure easier with Photoshop than it is with the old Sandpaper App.o_O

  16. No worries. Here is the second one in blue. Sing out if you want to see different colours. And apologies for going over the badge on the grille shell in the first one, caught it this time...

  17. That Cobalt blue looks good, the seat don't. The seat the way it looks kind of defeats the purpose of cutting down the rear panel, the seat needs to be a tan or black, that is my 2 bobs worth, (cents).

Why between them, when the first one is so damn good!!

I really like the light blue in primer you got. Cold you respray with 20% clearcoat in yor primer, and call her done!
It the same color as the survivor that @Austinrod has? I like that one too.

Never see that before, looks nice. But I was referring to the exterior color. Turquoise, or a little more blue! I like that car a lot !

Was it that dark red/maroon all over?

Looks like it was the old color from the fifties painted turquoise I'm assuming in the 70's

  23. When I built my old touring I went through vintage paint chips to find a color that would have worked from 58-62 and ended up with the Infantry Blue (light blue). There are some cool 50s colors that would rock on that.

Maybe not blue, but all the pics on all my monitors looks damn near like blue primer!
    Even that one I posted.

But that color I posted, like a baby blue with a little more blue, maybe even a little more to the grey/matter out.

It looks blue, compared to the grey primered car in the back ground.
    Is it just an elution?

I'm thinking something along the lines of this color. Please forgive the OT Impala it's attached to.

IMO that blue on the Impala looks pale and washed out. A boring blue.

  28. I found it a bit tricky to get a good inbetween colour. I'm not the expert that some of the others on the photoshop thread are... but I try.

  29. That colour suit it to a T (sorry for the pun), the seat colour works in with that type of yellow, perfect!

  30. Paint it the Impala blue. It will work.
