Technical 235 starter solenoid heats up when starting engine.

    When I turn over my 235 engine the solenoid get hot and smokes. Engine will eventually turn over but I know the solenoid isn't normal. Any input from you old timers would be appreciated from this greenhorn.

  2. Have a look at your contacts on the solenoid (inside), you will probably find they are dirty/full of crud, try cleaning these up first.
