with this 413 or any engine for that matter.. what is the ideal if any on engine placement.. like forward, backwards, and hight of enging on mounts ect....
IMO Bell housing bolts even to a couple inches forward of the firewall. You tuck the trans any further back and you will have no foot room at all.
Thanks! As for engine height thats a good question. Mine was sort of determined by the ground clearance, I have about 3 inches under the pan. Any higher you run into the trans eating interior again, any lower and you eat speed bumps. A lot of trial and error plus a ton of reading forums looking for info!
Weather you want to build your car like this or not this is the perfect engine placement. Level and close to the firewall.
that about what I will have in it present location...I have shorter fan spacers so I think this will work...
I would like to see it down a little in front. Although I like your engine choice and the fact your bring back alive an old rod.
iam thinking that as well, with the body loosing three in, channeled, goin to need to beef up the front spring, droping it down gets the pan closer to the road, what would be too close?
just went back and set the engine on the frame were it is at in the pics full weight, I have 4 1/4'' from oil pan to ground...
