I'm new to doing build threads, but this is my T Roadster project. It is a solid Henry steel on a homemade frame. I bought it as a basket case, and am starting to mock-up the chassis. There are some areas requiring reinforcement, and I should have 220v out here soon.

The front end is a 70's era 3" drop axle with '40 outers, Pete & Jake's steering arms, and a Posie's 33.5" spring. The rear is a full-width '40 banjo. It already has an open-drive conversion. I have a set of F-1 steelies that I'm planning to run with skinny bias-ply's.

The chassis is currently set up for an SBC. I have a 2.3 Lima short block and rebuilt C3 that I may or may not run. A guy told me about a couple UK companies that sell speed parts for these.

My goal for this year is a rolling chassis, and I should have that accomplished soon. The suspension will be split bones with TRE's. Thanks for looking.

I like the choice of the 2.3 Lima engine. There are a ton of speed parts for it. You could go manual transmission by sourcing a 5 speed out of a Ranger.

I like the idea, too. Unfortunately, I know nothing about them. Maybe I should buy a Haynes manual for a Pinto.

Just a suggestion, try putting the front spring on top of the mount.
See if that gives a lower, better stance.

  6. That transmission looks an aweful lot like a double C3, ie. a C6.

That's how the frame was set up. I cut off the gussets, and have to redo them on the top. That arrangement scared me a bit.

I like the tall (40's style?) stance a lot, but it may be too tall. I will see once everything is mocked up.

Anyone know the approximate year of this banjo axle? I need to order some brake shoes, and want to see if Napa can get them.

I need four of these for the front brake shoes. Does anyone have a source? I assume they're called a cam insert or something, but am not having any luck.

So I'm prepping this '42 banjo hub for paint, and am picking out what appears to be an old seal. Was there supposed to be a seal behind the nut?
