So I bought a rear section that the guy thought was a Buick. I did some searching and now I'm not so sure. I'm building it into a roadster but I wanted to take a look at some pictures and find out where stuff is supposed to go and maybe get some dimensions off of it. Let me know what you think.

Now, I know the cowl is a chevy (I think its a 32) but I took a pic of the tag just to make sure.

It looks like a Chevrolet to me, but there's not really a lot to go off.

The fisher body tag was for GM products, so that narrows it down a little!

Looks to me like, from the windshield back, they're identical. Hell, call it a Buick. It'll be more unique that way.

  8. Looks closer to the Chevy in those two pics. Focus on the upper cowl edge, between the top and side. The Buick is squarish while the Chevy is rounded.

The cowl is from a Chevy, but from the door edge back, they look the same to me. Am I missing other details?

Not that GM would ever share sheet metal between product lines :D

Well...I know the cowl is a vhevy and I was told it was a 32. The thing that had me thinking it was a Buick was that it has a small trunk lid. Did the mid 20s chevys have a small trunk lid?

  11. Most definately not a 32 Chevy. Pre-30.

I know the body isn't 32 but I'm not sure about the cowl. Does anyone have any pics of the rear of a 25 buick and chevy?

  13. From the inside shot of the door you can see the cowl and it looks like the same beltline as the body. So it isn't a 32. Can you take and post a better shot of the cowl?

I will take some more pictures of the cowl. I'm not so much worried about the cowl, I'm more concerned with seeing the back of the car and what its supposed to look like. It would be great to get some inside shots of the floors and the structure inside the car just so I can get some ideas on where to start. It does look like a chevy, but all the early chevys I've seen seem to have a large trunk lid. This thing does not.

Your pictures don't show us any detail of the small trunklid. If that's an ID point it needs to be included. You might be seeing the difference for rumble versus trunk.

i would go with chevy. the wooden door panel section looks identical to chevy.

and if it turns out to be chevy the body tag says its 32.

an old timer told me the (who has 30's chevys and restores them) the fist two numbers after the *job No.* is the year. in this case 32

hey are you near wilkes barre? (wyoming valley) ??

here's a '32 Chevy. Does your cowl look like this? Can't really tell from the photos. That teardrop shaped dip at the leading edge looks right...

I know that cowl is from a 32 chevy and the back half is from a Buick I just can't remember the year off hand.
