  1. We are excited to announce that Vickers performance transmissions and the Cruizer's Car Club have stepped up to sponsor a Nostalgia Altered Class! So all you altered wheel base, center steered, outlaw no hood coupes, roadsters, sedans and trucks can all play in one division! This is a guaranteed $1,000 purse for Sunday's race, Saturday is heads up for a trophy! This is a great addition to an already bitchin' event! RnR 2018_1104.JPG

  2. Nostalgia altered – coupes and sedans up to and including 1967 body style.


    Altered coupe and sedan class is for cars with modified production (replica) bodies designed solely for drag strip competition though in some cases may serve as dual purpose cars used for transportation as well. Bodies, engines, drivetrains, chassis, ect may be altered, modified or relocated as noted in the class guidelines.

    (A) Fuel – gasoline, race gas, alcohol are permissible. Nitro is not permitted.

    (B) Ballast – maximum of 50 pounds, must be fixed solid to chassis.

    (C) Belly pans – are permissible, streamlining may not be added.

    (D) Bodies – must have a coupe or sedan body originally produced by a automobile manufacturer or a replica of an original, tops may be chopped and/or body channeled but not to exceed 10 inches total body height reduction, sedan delivery (1/2 ton panel truck) sedan pick-up, Ranchero, El Camino, etc may run in this class providing car meets all class requirements, pick-up beds must be stock height and width and a minimum of 36 inches in length.

    (E) Brakes – a minimum of 2 wheel hydraulic brakes (rear wheels only) will be required on all cars in this class.

    (F) Bumpers – are not required

    (G) Driver – must be behind engine and forward of rear axle, must be completely inside body.

    (H) Drive Lines – may be modified or fabricated to suit installation, all cars with open drive lines must have a minimum of one drive safety loop to keep drive shaft from digging into track in case of front u joint failure.

    (I) Engine – must be of automotive type, year, make and model are optional, any modification may be made to the engine including clutch and flywheel, only 1 engine permitted, engine may be relocated but not to exceed 25% of the wheel base measured from center of front spindles to the nearest spark plug hole, rear engine location is not permitted.

    (J) Exhaust system – competition type exhaust permitted, exhaust must be directed out of the body to the rear away from the driver, fuel tank, tires and strip.

    (K) Frame – may be stock, altered automotive type or tubular construction.

    (L) Fenders – are optional

    (M)Rear End – any automotive type is permitted.

    (N) Street equipment – is not required

    (O) Suspension – any type suspension permitted, rigid mounted axles are permitted on the rear only

    (P) Transmission – must have a conventional automotive type transmission with a minimum of 2 forward gears, flywheel cover is mandatory

    (Q) Upholstery – interiors may be gutted, must have minimum of 1 seat and all mandatory safety gear according to NHRA/IHRA guidelines for et/speed

    (R) Wheels and tires – wheel wells may be radiused to permit the use of larger tires and wheels providing new wheel wells are constructed which completely cover the inside and top 180 degrees of wheel and tire and completely isolate wheel and tire from driver’s compartment.

    (S) Wheelbase – altering of the wheelbase is permissible

    (T) Ignition – points, magneto, electronic ignitions are all permissible, distributorless ignition systems not permitted.

    (U) Induction – any combination of naturally aspirated, supercharged (roots type only) turbocharged, mechanical injected, or carbureted are permissible, electronic waste gates, electronic injection, nitrous oxide are not permitted.

    (V) Electronics – high side chip for over rev protection permissible, 2 step, delay box, rpm activated shifter, launch control, trans brake are not permitted.

    Looks like the track hooks pretty darn good.

    I THINK I posted a few photos from a mag article of the light green Wren willys in the willys thread some time back.

    Great show Don. Took my 14 year old grandson to show him what REAL drag racing was all about.

    I don't know the numbers but it seems to be growing quite a bit. Great show once again.

  10. At Rock'N'Race on Saturday evening we throw out the new, and race old school! HEADS UP ALL OUT for every division! We started it with the Nostalgia Gas cars the first year and now do it with every car there! Between the show car heads up race on Friday and the Saturday race, that is over 500 cars racing Heads UP first to the finish line wins! Congrats to the winners.
