Staying in Indiana subjects you to bridge tolls each and every way. I'd stay in Kentucky.

We stayed in Indiana once, and my friend broke down crossing the Clark Memorial Bridge during morning rush hour. We had to push his 40 Chrysler more than half way to the other side...... a very scary experience.!!

His car restarted once we got off the bridge, and he made it to the Expo Center and put in a new fuel pump in the parking lot.

I'll be making the 11 hour drive in the 37 Buick this time. I have a new motor in it, so I should be OK. I'm staying closer to the show this year (Candlewood}.

    (4) of us old birds are going to Salina in my 57'Ford. If I and the Ford survive that trip, I may run down to Louisville for part of Friday and all day on Saturday. Charlie, if I do, I'll find you in the Swapmeet area. I would enjoy a good visit.

Looking for Nats tent space to get out of the sun and a place to park. Not looking for something for nothing. Willing to pay for it.

Your misinformed. There will be tents everywhere. I've been out of Kentucky for a while and waited too long to get in on a tent rental.

Last year they restricted the number and location of the big rental tents closer to the expo, and allowed 10' X 10' canopys on the grass areas. Probably the same this year.

  12. Gary: This may be a long shot but check with Louisville Street Rods. Their tent usually looks half full??? If you know where Scott hangs out, it's near there. There's also a tent tax imposed this year.:(

To me the "change" has not effected the event what so ever. As I'm no longer into street rods I welcome the 50's and 60's cars which I would say is pretty close to becoming a 50/50 event. The concern that the event would be infested with late model junk has never panned out. As with any event even 48 & down theres plenty of stuff you walk right by. With over 10,000 cars trust me there will be plenty of stuff there you will like.

For anyone not familiar with this mess, there are NO toll booths. You get a fine in the mail.
Getting off on 31 and crossing the river is the easiest way around the toll bridge with no booth.

Please disregard the early weather forecast. Now it appears that the only day it won't rain is Saturday.
Oh, the traffic on 264 was scaring my wife.

Looks like a decent amount of Petrol stuff at one of the stops near Salvisa. Stopping today to look.

A guy at my hotel got his rod rear-ended on 264 on his way to the show today. The back end was smashed in but could still be driven, which is good because he has a long trip home to Texas. The driver of the pickup that hit him wouldn't give any information and jumped back in the truck, drove through the grass and took off.
My wife was right..... 264 is scary.

Great day at the Nats today not too hot, sunny and zero rain. Talk about having a wreck, a guy in a Falcon Futura at registration yesterday came into the parking area kind of hot and smacked a new Chevy pick up in the drivers door. What could this guy be thinking of? The Falcons right front fender got the worst of it.

If you stay in Clarksville....use the 2nd street bridge.....the other two bridges charge you $4.00 for each trip across the bridges. The bridge at New Albany is also free. Hope that this helps......AND AS ALWAYS, EVERYONE HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY TRIP !!!!
