Hell yeah! Such a great understated car with great atitude. A study in proportions and finish work wins! I bet that car just screams hotrod in person.

I know you could park it in the weekend cruise night line up of 32 roadsters and that's the one that would make you stop and look at it. I'm sure a photo next to a stocker or even a typical build of these parts would reveal quite a lot.

Going over the feature on it in Rodders Journal it's evident that you can have serious attention to detail and get things just right and not have a lot of flash throw in for effect.

That "rotten olive" green tends to grow on you although I thought it was more brown than green in the photos I saw before.

Some people wonder why a "Regular roadster" could win. There is nothing that typifies what a hotrod roadster is than a traditional roadster. That is the roots of all hot rodding. Congratulations to Daryl and family.

Fan of the car, no fan of the color.

  10. Stunning car and a worthy winner. As has been noted.......finally a car that gets driven wins. As it should be. I've seen the car and it screams hot rod, and incredible attention to detail, fit and finish. Maybe, just maybe, the AMBR is swinging back in the direction of real cars.

I think the Hollenbeck 32 was a very deserving winner. However I did think the Hollywood Hot Rods 36 with the V12 and Zephyr dash was a little more creative and extremely beautiful in a very classic B&W movie style. TEB

Never in my life did I believe a real (as in traditional and driven) hot rod would ever win another AMBR. I'm 60, and have been going to the Sacramento Autorama, Oakland Roadster Show, Grand Nationals yearly since I was 8. I've seen "more creative" and "totally polished crap" win for so long. Thank god for the Hollenbecks! This car, as subtle and unassumingly as it is, rocks!

  18. Incredible car. I like the color.....now, not sure how much as it wears on me over time and especially after I see it (or similar) on a dozen '32s in the near future.:D

Wow a '32 roadster won! I guess my expectations are different for a AMBR car. I'm disappointed.

Congrats to Darryl ..Killer car…..and to Cory T. for the chassis work. NOT a pro built car… a very well built and deserving car that has miles already on it. CONGRATS.

The landscape is clearly changing. I've said it in other topics as well but of this isn't proof then we're all blind, know nothing.
