I haven't heard a thing about this. I'm sure it will be mostly locals who race at the track, but hey, for 5 bux, why not?! I live 4 blocks away!
Their mimeograph machine must have given up the ghost. LOL
The only place I saw "The Thompson Flyer" available was at the GoodGuys Shows, years ago.
Ken and Millie Thompson produced an invaluable flyer for those of us that played with cars in the pre internet days. I always put some green backs in their bucket and took a flyer.
Ken passed away I would say 10 to 15 years ago. I saw Millie at Turlock with her son the year after that. I'm sure she has passed since. These are the kind of people that made the Northern California car scene so great. Now we have the internet. Although I'm on here WAY too much, I wish I could return to a pre cell phone, pre internet world.
Cool, can I park at your house?
Wow, has it been that long? Seems like only last year I was plunking a buck into that tin pail for a flyer. RIP Thompsons, and thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, the old flyers were great, any space left over after the dates was classified ads, plus there was a ruler printed down one edge that I used many a time.
Maxwell high school Rodeo and car show, May 18th.
This is one of my favorites, draws about 200 cars, and best of all, it's free!! There is also a rodeo and a frog jumping contest and BBQ. LOTS of raffle prizes.
10:30 A.M. to 3 P.M. Call Randy at 438-2376
We also have a BBQ at the wrecking yard after the show, for those interested in looking at rusty old junk.
