Less than 6 weeks til we hit the road! HAMB Drags or bust!

  10. I spaced it out and didn't get my reservations at the Holiday Inn in time. :-( Do we have a new contact like Suit?

  11. Well, never mind. My dear wife called them up again and got reservation without any problems. :)

Where can I find safety rules? I will be in a 23T bucket. I need to know what all I need being a roadster. I assume a DOT helmet? Not an old 70s helmet? Will a lap belt suffice?

    go to http://www.mokandragway.com/rules/

Questions can be PM to Carl (MoKanMan on the HAMB)

You will probably need a roll bar.

Thanks. Seems like there were roadsters last year without roll bars...?

There were - I was one of them. They did announce during the races that rollbars will be required in roadsters this year. I'll be fabbing up a simple bolt-in rollbar so I can race again this year.

...And from what I recall, lap belts are ok.

    Rules state:
Roll bar required on vehicles running 11.49 or quicker 1/4 mile or 7.50 1/8 mile. Roll bar is recommended at 11.99 or quicker 1/4 mile. Roll cage required on vehicles running 9.50 or faster 1/4 mile or 6.00 1/8 mile.

I doubt my little car will run quicker than a 12... but I have not idea. Will be first run for me!

I didn`t think it was a big secret....I sold the `40 coupe to my buddy Jim aka 'glitter man'...so I`m bringing a `29 roadster...I`ve been working on it for about 2 years.

    It`s a stroked 327 chev...`58 ford rear...4.11 on a spool...auto trans...

It`s not really hot, but It`s fun as hell to drive.

I started with 2 model A frames...Z`d 8" in front and about 14" in the rear
`40 ford front, end fully boxed frame, home made ladder bars, stretched about 4.5
inches to make the front work with the spring in front of the axle.

Not as nice as MALCOMS, but a lot of fun.

  27. I hadn't heard any updates so I was just checking to see if she was alive. Can't wait to see her!
