Cool!! George is a real stand up guy...met him at Bonneville and he took time to answer all the questions my friend's 8 year old had, gave the kid permission to check out his race cars and gave all 6 of us free T shirts....he said he has all the time in the world for the youngsters cause they are the ones to carry on the hobby!!!!
Would love to see his collection in person!!! :D

  7. I was there last year in August and November finishing the restoration of a car at the Tupelo museum not far away and was invited by Allen Hutchison who works for George keeping his collection going. I was able to go and look at George's collection I was there for a few hours and did a video of all four of his building with all of the cars he had just unbelieveable collection. And I got to ride in the Bones car in town for lunch. All together a great collection of cars and George is the nicest person you could meet.

  13. Thanks for the great pics. He is a Ruler!

  14. Fabulous collection! who knew putting juice in a pill could pay off so well!

  15. He has one small building where the main shop is with his tools and where he keeps the 32 Ford collection and his toys of NASCAR a bit smaller than the other buildings about 1/8 mile at the top of the hill above where you had the tent set up. And also 2 more and older buildings where he has 20 + more cars with a guest house next door.

Wow, what an incredible collection! Soooo much good stuff.

  21. Thanks for the great post. I had never heard of the gentleman til now, but
I see he gets very high marks from all acquainted with him. That certainly
is a nice collection. I noticed he seems to like the "sleeper" style cars....
the cheap model with big engine. Those are a nifty bunch.

George Poteet is as nice a guy as you could ever meet.

I believe he has made more Chevy guys appreciate Fords than Nascar has!

Thanks one more time for posting the photos. It's amazing to see a collection like that where the cars don't look like museum pieces but cars that can and do get driven.

I know winning the lottery would get me here but I'd rather know the strategy besides hard work that enabled Mr. Poteet to make the money to be able to enjoy the hobby to this degree. What is it give me a fish and I'll eat today. Teach me to fish and I will survive a life time.

Flipper How do you get so fortunate to be able to get such great opportunities

  30. I have read about George Poteet a lot over the years, knew he was into Fords. Does he own the 57 Chevys? Are they Black Widows?
