Curt Six here on the HAMB did some art for my ad in Traditional Rod & Kulture Magazine...the Jalopy Showdown Drags big sponsor, thanks Zombie! Figured it was a chance to show the art & remind everyone to come out & race your hot rod! Oct. 1 (same weekend as Carlisle, but you were finished buying by Friday anyway, right?) Beaver Springs Dragway, Beaver Springs PA.
Can't wait! Last year was great.....the coolest, most fun drag racing event I've seen since the 1960's. This is a must-see event.
Thanks Larry, Not sure if we will make it this year, but for those who cant decide, here is proof that it is a blast. Slim
Thanks Larry for the kind words. Just checked with Sherri and we will out of the country then. See you at Jalopyrama Oct 22. Slim
Another show I'd love to go to. Unfortunately it''ll have to wait until next year as the Jalopyrama is in the works already this year. I do love me some drag racing though!
Hmm, park you car and walk around and look at other cars, or, take your car out on the track and flog it.....You sure you arn't gonna be there Larry, thanks for putting my car on your ad! The art work is awesome!
Well you're right, I would love to see some drags racing over parked cars but my '35 was invited up to Maryland so I'm excited about that. Although I will say after last weekend at HAMB drags I am dying for more!!!!
Less than a month to go. Get the hot dogs ready !!!! We're ready to romp the snot out of the car ...again !!!!
I finally got a good small cross form chute on the Honker... mounting it up correctly this weekend... Went thru and checked the bottom end and the bearings after the HAMB drags... looks like were good to go... Might even be my turn to get some seat time at the springs... See ya soon TH
We never miss it! The Jalopy Showdown is just a warmup for the Jalopy Showdown Drags! We look foward to it every year and we'll be there! Thanks, Larry!
Both!1/4 mile if your car can pass a real tech, 1/8 mile if not. 1/8 mile will need a catch can, no giant leaks from engine or trans or holes in floor, seat belt, all you lug nuts, & helmet in a roadster/open car. Pretty easy tech.
hell yea I cant wait. This is going to be the best thing ive ever done on pre deployment leave. See you guys there!
I'm in. No rain, cool temps, great air spells quick times & wheelstands for me. Can wait. Don might need a new bumper by the end of the day.
I am there rain or shine....but I need to recruit some members for my rubber band war, or just call me Custer
I will be there for sure again this year . We had a great time last year and I don't think I will ever miss one again ! Gotta see Don do those great wheelies again this year ! Verminator , are you going to down those dogs the fastest again this year ? You did the dog and coke really fast last year ! Retro Jim
Wish I could make it. I was planning on going, but something came up. I'm gonna miss a good time....AGAIN.
Leaving the roadster home this weekend... Got the F1 packed, rain-x'd, and finally installed a heater! Got my fingers crossed for good weather, guess if it rains like hell we'll suit up and go Cen-Penn junkyard crawling...
Chance of showers...dont give up so easily. We've had showers before & got a full day of racing in, just had to run the track dry. Somehow we always seem to manage to pull it out of our hat.
Hey Slim What a fanstatic picture! Talk about being there at the right moment! This photo SHOULD be in the 2012 HAMB calender! Klaus
