nice work everyone. Here is my favorite piece of the year, the quality of the finished product isnt my best, but its the concept of the idea which I like so much about it. A 33-34 ford ute, with a dual quad, dual supercharged 312 y-block. One of you aussies out there has to build this.

Its impossible to pick one piece of art from all you extremely talented folks out there, I could post anything from norwell, Cab, Lowcab, ruben duran, detroit dinosaur, Zombie, surfmonkey, franco, toddj, jcruz......i could keep going but, if I had a gun to my head...my favorite piece this year goes to flyingpolock and his R&C desoto piece

  8. YnottaYblock- I reckon the late Lew Bandt would be giggling in his grave. He designed the '33 ute. He owned and drove the prototype and died in it as a result of a collision- he was a ripe old age , i'm guessing this was in the nineties. He was a very talented designer. The brief was a light truck that could also be used for church and town visits.
The Y- block is the good choice- with aussie speed parts it was by far the most popular overhead here until the seventies - we didn't get the mouse 'till '60 and by then Chevs were very expensive and sold in few numbers. Falcons got the 289 in '67, Holdens got the 307 & 327 in '68 and that was the beginning of the end of the 272 & 292's dominance on the street.

  12. LeftyLucy's grand Charcoal lakebed piece is a favourite of many.
Before the coupe ute there were the open utes. I'd hazard a guess that Mr. Bandt was probably involved in the design work.
I rendered this type 304 in October. As you can see it's still in 'primer'.
I've returned to drawing this year largely through the inspiration of these shows.

I am not an artist and therefore cannot contribute but I just wanted to say how much I enjoy y'all's work. Those that post every week and those that only contribute occasionally; it's all wonderful. These threads are one of the best reasons to be on H.A.M.B. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and I'm looking forward to 2009's shows.

After digging through the past I settled on a piece from just last week by Spogie.

This one had a lot of meaning for me. I think it's awesome.

  22. Just got in from a day at the beach with the wife and kids...

Such killer work here from everybody!

  23. Cab, I'm hoping to hand draw the couple on paper soon... Thanks for all your support!

    A couple more from me...

I began posting art in October of 2006. I was greated warmly by the likes of Brian (FlyingPolack) stupski, Jeff Norwell and SurfMonkey, Coupe-De-CAB and Tingler,. I don't know what the shows were like before then, I suspect great, and just when you think it's reached it's zenith, BAM, a dozen new artists blast it into the next galaxy. Incredible.

    Ponchos-a-go-go!
