I have a 1954 Chevy Belair Stock 235...What are some good one barrel subsititues that will bolt up the stock manifold? I am looking at replaing my old beat up rochester. I thought about just buying another remanufactured one...but I would like to hear of some alternatives and feedback?
Carter, Stromberg, and Zenith all offered A/M (aftermarket) replacement carburetors specifically for the Chevrolet 235 engine. Many are very close to being bolt-on swaps. Jon.
My throttle body casting # is 7003538 and the only nunber I could find on the top part was 7136? I am trying to figure out if I can use this as a substitue carb for the one I have on there now. Please help! Thanks. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-64-7074
Try looking for a Rochester Monojet from the late '60s or '70s. GM used them on just about every 4- or 6-cylinder car and they can be had for cheap, cheap, cheap. They are decent carbs too. I ran one on my '62 Chevy with a 250.
