Anyone got any photos of a 66 fury III in Drag Race Form? I picked one up last week for 250.00 and want to get some Ideas. Were there any of this type drag racing in lat 60's? A.B.C.D?Gas? I have looked in a crapload of old racing mags and haven't found one yet...Just lookin' for some help...Thanks......NIP

it would more likely be a modified production (M/P) car, serious racers were using much lighter cars...

In the late 60's a FuryIII would have been driven by one of my bud's parents...not cool and definitely not a race car. A-gas cars would have been Austins, Fiats, and lots of T's. B-gas would have been like my 64 Chev II; tilt glass front, tube axle, A-990 style 426 Hemi (9.40's @ 145). By the mid 70's, gas cars were simply the slower pro stock pieces.

I have a '66 Fury 3 convertible in my driveway I want to get rid of!

If you ditch the inner fenders, hook a brother up - mine didn't come with any. :(

Make it run & drive it ... they're an excellent road car.

It's the constant reminder of a trade gone wrong. :(
