Here's a great film on the 1965 Hot Rod Magazine Drag Race Nationals posted by Bill McGuire on his site. Lots of early dry lakes and Bonneville action before it moves to 1965 and the drag strip. For anybody that wants to build a period correct car, this is a good example of what they really looked like. Sorry if this has been posted before, but it's good enough to post again! https://macsmotorcitygarage.com/video-1965-drag-racing-documentary-the-hot-rod-story/#comment-22780
Just an FYI that this video has been posted on the H.A.M.B. a dozen times in the past 5 years (i.e., do a H.A.M.B. search of the YouTube ID: “WcslCXecPG8”). It’s been my observation that posts on McGuire’s website are many times just rehashes of stuff he’s found on the H.A.M.B. ... not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I figured it probably had, but reading the comments on Bill's site it sounds like it had been taken down for a while. No matter, it's still worth a fresh link.
We won class on Saturday. Beat cars in 7 other classes on Sunday to win Street eliminator and $1500! That was a very good weekend.
1965 Hot Rod Magazine Championships @Dean Lowe Hey Dean, Who wouldn't like that photo at 16:26, that was one hot roadster pickup. Congrats as history speaks for itself, again. Jnaki A Street roadster in the truest sense… Same meet, same RPU? https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...his-29-roadster-pu.359139/page-3#post-3888913
