save your time & energy until you can find a '64 - if you want to build a 60's type hot rod go ahead - just do not call a '65 a Thunderbolt - cut off year here is '65

    Measured from my hardtop:

    Top line - 45 7/8”
    Center - 47 5/8”
    Bottom - 45 1/4”

I believe Darrell Droke campaigned a big block 65 for Downey.

I’ve picked up some parts from Crites. They specialize in that era Fairlane and make “Thunderbolt” type parts.

Looks like a '64 you've pictured. '65 is Hamb material. There was exactly one documented '65 Thunderbolt built. Good luck.

I didn’t even notice the picture. Definitely not a 65. My measurements may or may not be any good for you.

Tear drop hood with a 427 is a good start!

  13. look what is next to the 55 wagon. I also have another red and white Htp. and two four doors for parts. one four door has rust free quarters. When folks state thunderbolt the 64 is what I think of.

Wonder why DST got the build? Looks to be a regular small block Fairlane.
