  2. Getting some new secret springs mounted with the new roller perches. Should free up the front end a lot. Thanks to my helper holding up the car while I worked!

The shocks keep the springs square as the suspension cycles. Those eyelet perches would allow the springs to bow in or out.

Not enough to even cause an issue,I have been running them for 20+ years on my 65 Comet! The shock DOES NOT move out of line, all the lower pivot does is free up the front end,it takes away the bind that happens when the front end cycles through its travel!Stock type shocks have been known to break at the bottom where the cross shaft is welded! ROY.

  6. The falcon has a new sibling! My first venture into trucks, a 1961 F-100 short bed, small window. I will be starting a build thread on it soon. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1418093129.274699.jpg

I don't know, does your wife know you have all the car parts in the house?

  11. Joseph, I don't have a wife, but I do have a 7 year old daughter that keeps me and the parts in-line! She's always pointing at her eyes, then at me and says she's watchin' me

You should get a print of that made in black and white Mike!
There's no Toyotas or advertisements for cell phones in the background,it would look just like 1965!:)

Hey Mike your car looks Great. I didn't see what ETs you ran? Those black and whites really look vintage. Hope all went well out there!.......Al

  26. Hey Al, I don't have my ETs in front of me, but the track was terrible and I could not get off the starting line. I think I am going to take it off methanol and put it back to Gas in the next month or two. The amount of maintenance is a lot. So much water gets in the valve cover area from the alcohol, having to vacuum dry it after every race, empty all the fuel lines out, blow everything out, spray wd-40 is everything from cylinder bores to fuel pumps/tank makes for a lot of work. Plus having to fill up the moon tank after every pass is a pain especially when they hot lap you to speed up the show. I'm going to put some 110 in it and see if I can get it tuned right.

Hey Mike, how about E85 instead, cheaper than race gas and no maintenance problems.

  28. I tried E-85 before and it gummed everything up, smelt bad and burned quickly. The bottom of my car had a layer of gross blackness. It is cheaper, but goes faster than gas and is hard to find around me. Plus they don't have it as racetracks around here if I needed some. I think I will just keep it simple, (simple as a Hilborn system can be!!) and run race gas.
