Stay at it Mike you'll be racing soon! Good Job.....Al

  2. Hey Scott, I got it at Speedway motors, it is threaded RH and LH 3/8 to assist in adjustment. They sell it in increments of a 1/2". The outside diameter is 5/8. It's the same tubing I used for my shift rods.

I am also replacing the header extension clamps with band clams instead of exhaust clamps. I don't like how they hang down.

    Nice job Mike!

It's cool to see you fabricating a whole hell of a lot more than you're buying, and even the stuff that you buy is raw material that gets tweaked and custom fabbed into what you need.
That's what TRULY makes a car "yours".:)

    Scott

Mike..Backing up a bit, what is the CFM of the fuel injection?

  5. This is from Hilborn's site:

How much CFM does your injector flow?

The standard of using CFM for flow potential was originally designed to aid engine builders in determining correct carburetor size. This was required to make sure that an adequate signal was available at the booster for sufficient fuel flow. Since an injector supplies fuel under pressure for engine demand, and does not use a booster, we have never seen the need to identify CFM. We size our injectors by butterfly size because only so much air can flow through a particular size orifice. It is important to remember that any CFM rating includes a pressure drop to provide a consistent comparison, such as 28 inches of water for cylinder heads.

You can us it how you will, I have been thinking, the picture was dated aug 1966 but with people wearing jackets here in south Texas, I am sure the film sat till I had the time or money to get it developed. I am sure it was late 65. My Dad was shop forman for a pontiac dealership that had a 63 421 tempest that was also there. Why I did not take any pictures of it eludes me.

Mike;turn them up,that is how I do mine, that way just the rounded bolt shows, the nuts and washers are at

  12. I haven't used the formula, with me in it, its about 3000, best run so far of 12.08 at 114.

Roy I tried to do that, but with the way the clamp is and how the metal L is on the rubber part, it does not sit right

Won't the Soft-Lock clutch help with both? Does the launch rpm change any with the Soft-Lock? I used to cringe holding the engine at 6k at the line, woos on my part I guess...:(.

seb fontana;I run a McLeod Soft-Loc,no RPM increases with the clutch and I only have 5 turns of base, about 720 lbs and I leave between 5800 and 6600 depending on the track conditions! ROY.

  22. I haven't yet, it is pretty solid with out it, but I still may just for a little more stability . I need to figure out the valve cover breathers since the ones that came in the kit don't fit

Mike;can you fit some kind of 90 degree elbow into the valve covers, maybe using an adapter?!!You do not need to use those chrome breathers,in fact the tech nazis prefer a solid mount to the valve covers!! ROY.

  24. I ordered weld in male -10 AN fittings, and had some 90 degree fittings to attach the hose. The valve covers are off and I'm just waiting for the bungs to come in, then I'll take them to be welded up, to complete my pan EVAC system!

  25. Just waiting for the bungs to come in, valve covers and spacers off, car is waxed, vacuumed, re lettered the MH on the tires, hood is re enforced with fiberglass on the bottom so hopefully no more flexing...

Those valve covers don't suck! Looking back I wish I would have went with all H/M covers, intake and oil pan instead of Cobra stuff.
