So the 61 62 control arms will bolt right up and be correct for steering? I thought the spindals were different. I have regular and finned drums for the front. I think I'm going to go with the finned. Any advice on maybe going with some sort of factory disc off of a later Pontiac full size?

Go with Scarbird for your front disk conversion. With the conversion kit you can buy over the counter brake parts.

62hotcat is right. If you need Pontiac 4 speed parts, rearend stuff, just give Brad a call at Fabcraft.

Yeah, I got the fabcraft catalog last fall, they got a lot of great parts. I was trying to keep it mid sixties era, that's why I was considering going with the finned drums.

I'm using radials. They are here at the shop already. I'm running all steel black wheels and 8:50x 15 M and H race masters on the back.

Black steelies give the early 60s pontiacs a mean nasty look. Here is my 62 sitting on black shoes. It is sitting 560237_10150970017480804_740175237_n.jpg 1" higher with new springs after this photo was taken.

Moons are cool too. My uncle had a set on a 55 Chevy he built when I was a kid.
I'm hoping to have the rear end out tommarow and Sunday morning I'm going to menards to get cinder blocks and 2 8 foot 4x4s to set the frame on to power wash, get down to bare steel and paint by next weekend.

Here's the block, going with forged steel eagle kit. H beam rods, crank, pistons.

I assembled a 421SD from parts for my 63 Catalina in 1968. Very few of my 389 parts worked on the SD engine. I was young and dumb but I got it done and drove across country. 100miles...10 gallons of gas at highway speeds.
