Technical 1962 Savoy/Fury 318Poly what automatic ?

    in 1962 what push button automatic trans was installed from the factory if the car had the 318 poly engine,.. the 727 series, or the 904 series

    That will have the 727 trans. 1962 was the first year for the alloy 727's and the 6 bolt crank flange on the 318 Poly. It will have the Ball & trunnion though and I think 66 was the first year they went to the "much better" slip yoke. I think the push button trans finished in 65 also.
    There is another thread on here about fitting an OD to a Poly 318 and there's lots of good info there plus folk that know their stuff. Search 318 Poly.
    I think the 904 trans was only used behind the LA 318's and never with the Poly.
