It all depends on the look your going for. My cars looks cool with these wheels, but that not the look I want. They are just what I have to put on it it right now.
Heres mine!!! Just got it time to tear down!!!!
wow! that thing is mint! what's the plans?
Here's mine. Have had for 10 years. Up for sale now here on the HAMB.
how about a Bel Air!!
Not the first to mention it, but that is just a clean look there!
...Might be a shadow on the valve cover making it look like that shape, but is that a 348??
Man, 1961 HTs that nice aren't cheap anymore.
I'd give my left nut for a nice original 61!!!!
Here's a really nice one I found on the net.
Thought I should get a picture up finally of what mine is starting to look like
In my opinion, the bubble top is one of the most beautiful cars that GM designed.
Well I posted photos of my Bel Air before, but here's an image taken at the beginning of Dec.
Not a race car but a differant twist on a 61 Impala. I built in the 90's. Before 61 chevys were popular,].
My '61 Biscayne.
That's sweeeeet! You do have the fuzzy dice hangin' off the rear view mirror, right???
NOTHING better than big n littles on steel wheels. Best looking one on the thread....I'll have to try and find some pics of mine...
DAMN, That's sweeet! Are those '59 Caddy tail lights on the back of
Who in their right mind would want one of those shitty twisty X frame Chevies? Are you all crazy?
Oh wait, here's mine...
It's currently in pieces undergoing a build to low n slow status.
Yes 59 Caddy Frenched 2 1/2". When I built the car I used a Bel-air trunk lid, (4 lights) the new owner put the Impala lid on (6 Lights)
Looks like your off to a great start. The stance and tire/wheel combo is perfect.
Not mine but I wish it was.
Dang, I though 61 belair bubbles were rare.....looks like they're coming out of the woodwork finally
that 61 is in Custom Rodder mag in march 2001, a 3 page spread,i still have the mag, just a great car.
plus one on that... !!!
1961 Belairs i restored in the early nineties.Hardtop has 348/350 HP 4 speed. Convt has 348/ 250 HP 4speed. Sold cars about 10 years ago to a man in the LA area.
It's starting to look just fine! Keep us posted on the build.
Hey squirrel, they are relatively rare. Out of nearly 1/2 million 61 full size Chevys of all models and body styles, about 12,000 were sport coupe Belairs, but no breakdown of engines. The 12K represents the hot rods all the way down to 6cyl bread n butter cars. No telling how many donor cars became Impalas over the years. I like the clean styling on the sides w/out the painted cove in the Impala trim. I plan to mix n match some details in mine. I might add Impala armrests and such, plan to plate my W/S inner trim and outer window channels, maybe a few other things crossed over. Belairs are like a blank sheet of paper to do what we see fit.
