#19 & 20 are Ron Gerstner's. It was painted a dark candy green. He had a body and paint shop. He painted The Punk's Pickup in Tangerine Orange. It looked good.

I really like the 60s styling of this car, too. Not too over the top like a lot of the more radical 60s show cars. The vanity plate looks like "little red...(5 letter word)" Not sure after that.

BTW, the lighting in the venue is amazing and makes for some really interesting photos, especially #20.

Gerstner's car was beautiful, won a ton of awards. He still has it. He also built the Stiletto show car.

  11. Picture #18 is the "Miller & Gregory Pack Rat 1" car... built originally in 1959 and raced as an injected chevy..Sold a couple times ,and finally ran with this potvin motor.
Car was sold..motor was put in another car ,and from there it was eventually parted..
The body went on a T street rod. Motor went in a Fiat..

Oh,,I have THE original Potvin from THIS car..

Just check the article in the magazines I have on this car, and it never mentions color. However, Sqeege's son Doug now runs their business out in Chandler and has a n old faded photo of the car on the wall that shows it to be candy red.

I like the displays almost as much as I like the cars.. Thanks for sharing.......

  21. I hope a lot of those "twenty somethings" running around in r$% rods with primer and rust all over everything and talking about "back in the day" are looking at these photos. Especially the build quality, and the paint on these cars.
I would wager that unlike today, the majority of the cars in this show were drivers, not show queens. Paint was too cheap to run in primer for too long. Mike
