    They Called Her Lindy

We’re selling our beloved 1960 International Harvester Metro Step Van, Lindy, and YOU could be her new driver! Can’t drive stick? No worries, this beauty’s got an automatic transmission. She’s also on a 1980 Chevy chassis and has been outfitted with a 1980 Chevy 305 5.0 L V8 engine, so she’s fully ready to embark on a new adventure. Lindy’s spacious interior (hello, bench seats!) was specifically designed to do more than transport.

    HUGE Potential

Dream of passing artisanal ice cream cones over to tiny hands or making a statement at the farmers’ market? Lindy could be your business partner. Want to start up a mobile growler-filling station? Sure! Ready-to-go pop-up-shop? You bet.

    Distinctive Past, Undetermined Future

Lindy has seen things. Done things. She was once employed by the United States Postal Service. She has been a delightful do-gooder conveyor for a Pacific Northwest Credit Union. Most recently, She was the Opus Grows mobile, shuttling purveyors of premium soil around town. She’s quirky in a lovable way. She comes with a lot of keys. You may have noticed Lindy’s bitchin’ “paint” job — she comes with that, too. If you’d like it to have a different bitchin’ paint job, we just might be able to work something out.

    Road Trip or Ship

If you absolutely must have this van (we can’t blame you there) but aren’t feeling up for a road trip from Lindy’s current home in Eugene, Oregon, we get it. We’re happy to help make shipping arrangements with you. And if a 55 mile-per-hour tour of the Pacific Northwest sounds like just the ticket, Lindy’s ready to go. Godspeed!

    • This van is ready to go. It drives great at 55 mph or less. It simply wasn’t built for greater speed.

    • The interior and exterior, along with all the mechanical parts (including the engine), were restored from top to bottom in 2016.

    • The 1980 Chevy 305 5.0 L V8 engine has been rebuilt.

    • 1980 Chevy C10 chassis.

    • 110V power umbilical hookups.

    • New (2016) Automatic Transmission.

    • New (2016) aftermarket 10-gallon fuel tank.

    • Bench seats (with seat belts) that fold up; room to transport 11 people.

    • Tent system that attaches to the truck’s rear to extend usability options.

    • Whitewall tires.

    • Includes shelving pictured at the rear.

    • Skylight! Yes, Lindy has a super cool skylight.

    • Clear title.

This is a vintage vehicle, so while it drives great and is full of potential as a “vanbassador” for your company or lifestyle, it does have some vintage quirks: it’s not exactly airtight, so engine/road noise and occasional water leaks and drafts are part of life with Lindy. A portable heater works well to warm up the interior during the winter months.

Get ready to make people smile!
