I picked up a 1960 Ford Starliner, the story I got with the car is that the original owner took the "high performance" engine years ago.In looking around the net, this car appears to be an original 352/360 hp car.It does have the original exhaust headers and 3 speed overdrive trans and the Y in the code.Last tagged in 1970. It appears to be a local desert car with no rot.Anyone have an idea what this thing is worth? Thanks Fred

You may want to do an introduction first ........to start out on the right foot.

  3. It's worth maybe $100.00 tops.
    I'll give you $200.00 because I'm a very generous guy! : )

NEWFLASH! The "Intro Police" have been disbanded. Ryan himself says

"4. While we don't require "introductions," some members do appreciate them so it might be a good idea for you to do one here. Just introduce yourself and let folks know what you are all about."

In other words, if someone wants to do an introduction, fine. If someone chooses not to do an introduction, fine.

I'd say it's "worth" making into a cool cruiser! The '60 is my second fave Fomoco product, after my '64 Marauder.

360hp? The 352 I had in a '65 Merc was a boat anchor. Course, it was a big car...

Its neat, rare, and not a Chevy. Put the value at about 1/2 to 1/3 of a comparable Impala 348 car. (sorry, nothing against Ford, its just how it is.)The variables are condition and desire. a complete sunburned project in need of everything, 1500, 2,000 starting. How much you want it. I'd start at 800 if I was trying to get it.

  14. My dad used to have a 1960 Ford. I hated that turd. Too big, no power with the 292. But..as the years have passed on, I kind of like them again. Nothing looks like them. But the Starliner is still the only good looking one other than a convertible to me. Starliners are somewhat valuable. If its solid and running not needing much I would say 3-5 thousand. The exhausts are worth at least 300 by themselves. Thats my solicited 2¢

I went to high school just across the street from the Ford engineering center when they were developing that 360 package, and some of the project engineers would bring one out when school let out in the afternoon and do a little impromptu racing with the kids that had performance Chevys.

60/61 Starliners are a couple of the more iconic cars Ford made in the early 60's. If I were rich I'd have one. While restoring it back with a 352/360 engine might be too expensive you could always drop a 390 or 428 in it & have fun with it. Don't see how you can go wrong with it (unless he want too much) the manifolds might be worth more than the car.

My favorite American cars of all time are the 1960-'64 Fords. The '60 has always been my favorite of that group.

I'm mainly a Chevy guy but like the hipo 60 starliners. There was a white one that ran at Madera in 60 that was a 360 HP car and was tough to beat. Belonged to Bob Whitaker I believe. Always was impressed with that one.

True, but with all of the aftermarket support today, it is not hard to take a cheap (people do literally give them away) 2 bbl 352 and make a 360 Hp clone out of it.

My dad had a 60 starliner with the 4 bbl 352. When he bought a new Galaxie in 65 he asked me if I wanted him to keep it since I'd be getting my license in a couple years. Hell No, who in the world would want that ugly ass thing. Now I'd love to have it. Funny how tastes change over the years.

Now a 60 Edsel.... That was an overdose of ugly that could never grow on you :D

The 1960 352/360 cars are very rare. Many , myself included like the 60 more than the 61. very different and very rare.Like any collectible muscle car , the value depends on the condition , and the market. I know that 61's that need pretty much full resto of solid cars have been bringing 5-15k . Restored hi-po fe cars have been bringing 25-35 k. know that for a fact !

Cool is in the eye of the beholder. The 60 Starliner IMO is one of the best looking cars ever produced. If the original 360 is truly gone, look at the glass as half full. You will not be consumed by restoring it. You still have the cool factory cast iron headers. Find an FE motor that suits your budget and need for speed and drop it in. Get the car safe and reliable, clean, spit & polish. If this is all you do, you will have a very cool desirable ride. It all up from there. Congrats on the find.
