Customs 1959 f100 bumper ???

    My boy is wanting to tuck his front bumper back on his panel ,,my ? is does anyone have some pics of there work/how they cut it & how much they cut out...thax guys
     
  2. You mean move it closer to the body? Cut the bumper and narrow it?
    I'm in the process of putting a 59-60 bumper on a 57 and getting it closer by trimming the frame horns and making new brackets because it's a 57.
    1 1/2" from the bumper edge to the valance looked right to me.

  4. I like to follow the distance from the valance to the bumper evenly along the front and have a similar number along the return where the bumper follows around the fender.
    As mentioned, 1 1/2" worked for me. Figure what you've got now and trim the horns accordingly. I used a porta-band but a sawzall does the trick. Re-drill the holes in the frame horns for all the brackets and you're good.
    I'm not near the truck now or I'd take pics.
     

  5. Hard to see from this picture, but I did what was suggested above, took an inch or two out of the frame rails and hung a '66 Bronco bumper on my '56.
