I lowered mine 3" all the way around with brand new springs from Coil Spring Specialties. It rides like a brand new car, well, a brand new 59 car anyway! but 3+ inches lower. Give them all the car's specs (engine, etc) and they'll send you new springs. This was a few years ago, but it cost me $300 shipped and took about 2 weeks.
sorry i'm just a dumb okie! maybe if i lived in michigan i would be a lot smarter! and i do know the difference, i've got a couple of each in my back yard if you need any parts? so you go bash all the other 60s on here and i'll leave it with all you yankee fuckers! tata!
those are really nice shorts!
'59's are a family thing. Grandpa bought a Belair sedan new and it lasted 3 generations before somebody totaled it while my sister owned it. Dad had a drop top 348/4bbl/4spd/ power everything that he sold just before I turned 15....BUT, I just found our new family cruiser. Going to get it next Sat, and already have stuff lined up for it.
Hellfish, as someone who notices and loves every '59 Chevy he sees, I have to say that yours is probably the most beautiful one I have ever seen!
Went through 7 pages and thought where in the hell is 60Gasser's awesome freaking ride... then i saw him post...this thread is killer but not with the gasser... its even better to watch in person
Thread back from the dead...... here's my 59 daily driver from "back in the day".
Had no garage so I ended up selling it.
Mine ain't too spectacular yet, but I'll get her there.
Last years roadtrip to Portland
The only cool '59 from this
area back in the day!
OWNER Dick Rothfuss called it
The real deal Jimmy Jones
A few that caught my interest.
I need to find some better photos of my old white '59. I regret selling this car more than any other I have owned.
I saw another photo of it on page 5 of this thread.
Not sure what happened son, but your suspension looks out of whack.

...yepp, looks like this thread is back on !
Adding a pic my second Biscayne....(hoodscoop needs to go)
Poopsie even has a phone.
Where's the "Like" button?
So that's where they got the phrase Blue Balls from...
Great pic! i look forward to wagon road trips....
Not dead yet! Here's a few more 59 Chebbies.
I joined this forum, for this thread....LOL
Here is my 59.
I would love to see who has fixed up a 235 in their 59, any pic's?
Hood Clearance is a concern. Not sure if the dual or triple carbs will fit?
The original 235, with a new carb.
2 Speed Iron Glide
This is where I need help.
Here is a 1959 Impala that just wandered into the herd. It is a nice original car that someone started to dismantle. Missing a few parts but overall a very complete car with 283/4 barrel/powerglide. Has pb, ps, aftermarket air, tinted glass and was/is an ugly green over cream two tone car.
Maybe I will leave it the cream color with black top and trunk, black steelies. I'm looking for ideas so if anyone cares to share, lets hear it.
love these 59s
My dad had a 59 El Camino, and I'd love another. I've also been given serious thought about turning our 61 Impala 4 door into an El Camino lately.
My favorites are the El Caminos, chop top 4 door, and convertible with dagmars. Any chop top El Caminos or wagons?
Here's a more recent pic of my 59. Kinda wish I'd left the hood scoop off, though.
