This is my project. The owner had left her outside on the driveway as seen in first picture for almost ten years. He was a SUPER NICE old guy who didn't want to see the car sit another ten years and sold the car to me for almost nuthin. I brought her home about two weeks ago and after a few beers I returned her back to the street last Friday. After driving around all weekend with a big 'ol grin glued to my face, the fun begins. Time to replace fluids, tires, shocks, etc. etc... Anyone have a hood or upper dash for a 59?
Growing up, I had an aunt in Victoria, Texas who had one of those. My dad and mom used to send us to stay with her in the summers. Many a fond memory riding in the back seat of her "bankers car", as the rest of the family called it. Looks like you found a real peach. Happy motoring.
love , Love LOVE a 59 caddy !!! Man im Jealous , thats another one on my list of " to own before i die"
I've had a 59 before and it was the only car I ever owned that made EVERYBODY smile when I drove it around. Great score! How long did it take you out of that ten years to convince him to sell it to you?
The deal was done on the first visit. As he showed me the car a cold front blew in, there must have been something in the air.
Very NICE Car!! If I didn't have to sit on a stack of phone books in one,I'd love to have a '59! After you get it "cleaned up",do you have plans to take the Guy for a ride??
