Thought that you guys would enjoy a sneak peak of a kool kustom that will debut at this years GNRS. The last three years, Jeff Myers has been debuting a new kustom and this year will not disappoint the kustom fan. This year he will be showing up with a 1957 Ford Ranchero called “Jolly Rancher”.

Jeff and Sancho found the Ranchero in California. The deal was made, so they flew west to pick it up and drive it back home. Yes, they drove it back home without heat, side windows, wipers and ended up having four bad tires. They drove through pouring rains, snow and had to be a tornado or two. How bad was it? Even a hitch hiker turned them down for a free ride. Jeff and Sancho live for the adventure and boy do they have stories to tell.

Hope you enjoy the pictures from their trip and the build process....

After a tire issue, (flat) they decided to replace the four wide whites with some skinny whites. The picture below was taken after it turned cold, wet etc., Love this picture... Kustom Survivalist

Even though the weather wasn’t the best they manage to have some fun..

When they got home they knew that it was a good driver just needed to fine tune it and get after the body work.

  3. I know they painted the dash, but I'm curious to know what it has in it for an interior. I can't believe all the work they did in such a short time, so if the interior is something yet to come, that's sure understandable. Didn't know if it already had one in it when they got it though.

Interior is black tuck and roll. It was in good shape when they bought it. Johnny Torres did some work and made a black tonneau cover.

  6. Been following on Instagram. Very cool indeed and quick considering they had to redo the crappy chop as part of the "body work" ;).

An amazing amount of work in an amazingly short amount of time! A few weeks ago I bought a Street Rodder magazine from 1978 that had this picture in it. The picture was from the Oakland Roadster show and the owner was Nick Ellis. Same car? Maybe, who knows? Best of luck to Jeff, Sancho and Voo Doo Jim! I also know Johnny Torres and Jeb McGregor kicked in some effort there at the end. Neat deal! sancho.jpg

Except for the wire wheels I'm digging it, big time. It's very easy to imagine this being
driven and blowing minds. It has a great look.

  11. Pretty amazing what just changing the roofline did for the overall look of this hauler. A lot of little details that have to be considered as part of the bigger picture.

So what was the time frame. When did they bring it back from California. I remember building a red chopped Ranchero model kit when I was a kid.

The dash is all moved around in typical Myers fashion as well. Do you have the photos that show the massive mess that roof was? Something like 4 inches thick of multiple roof panels and inches of bondo. It was bananas, had to tonjust replace the roof.

Whole car had shit tons of bondo over good straight metal. Always a head scratcher.

Amazing the amount of work he pulled off in a pretty short period of time

Put a totally different roof on it from what I can tell. Just kept the glass. I’ll find the photos on Instagram if someone doesn’t beat me to the punch
