  1. Hey all long time since posting last!
I am trying to remove the steering box from my gasser wagon (it has the original steering box in it) and my question is do I have to pull the whole steering column out to get the box out of the car? I have the three mounting bolts and pitman arm remover , if I open the top of the box where the shaft and worm gear go in to the box will it come out that way?
    Thanks all.

Jack front high, bottom of tire 24" from ground.
Remove steering wheel, disconnect lower column mount and floor plate...disconnect pitman arm, remove 3 bolts in frame/box. Turn box, pull out the bottom, mast slides out of jacket. Easy as pie. Well, cake.

  3. I’ll give that a try, it’s not a stock set up it’s a gasser so the space on the engine area is quite different from a stock 57 wagon
